Re: Winamp and audio CDs

2007-03-21 Thread Jack Conti
catherine I had this problem a couple of times. I took me 6 or 7
times installing winamp and the last time I installed itunes and it
fixed the problem, in other words winamp then came up in the dialog.

I didn't want mindows media player to play my cd's as well. I
had the box checked in win amp and still winamp wasn't in the list.
I just kept reinstalling it, and finally after installing itunes i saw it.
No one has a real suggestion for me, I am running xp pro we 60.
I know some day it will show up but till then?

time. I'm using Winamp 5.32. I looked in the Winamp preferences in the
file types and there's a check box for launch Winamp for audio CDs which is
checked.

What's the problem? How can I get Winamp to automatically play the CD, or
at least for Winamp to be an option in the dialog which comes up when you
put any disk in?

In My Computer, go to the drive that you use to play CD's. Press alt plus
enter to get to the properties. then press control plus tab to get to auto
play. tab through this and you'll find where you can set what program you
want to use and what things you want this drive to do, including the playing
of CD's.

What other media playing program have you recently installed? One way of
doing this is to open windows explorer and go to the list view of your audio
cd. Highlight one of the tracks and then press the applications key. Arrow
to 'open with' and hit enter. Go to 'choose program' then enter. find
winamp tab and check the box that says, always use this program then enter.
