it depends whether you're talking about a 3 pin, 4 pin XLr connector. most of these usb devices are for 3 pin balanced microphone cables with one of the pins being hot for phantom power. - Original Message - From: Alex Stone alex.st...@gmail.com To: 'PC Audio Discussion List' pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Sunday, August 15, 2010 4:59 PM Subject: RE: XLR to USB converter I'm no expert, but presumablyXLR does support two channels, and if it does then stereo mikes should work. RE: XLR to USB converter
Thanks John. I know about this but my idea is sort of keep it simple as much as possible. I am not a musician, I don't need any fancy stuff but something good enough to make reasonable voice recordings. I got two mics sitting here, one is Shure SM58 (dynamic) and another Apex 460 (condenser) and was thinking about the most reasonable and effective way of connecting them to my computer without a necessity of playing with too many knobs, sliders and switches. I was hoping that someone from the pc-audio group had a chance to see the device I was mentioning about in my original email.
