Re: mixers
Hi, if yyou can't find the baringer mixer there is a 4 channel mixer by sampson. It's portable uses 3 9 volt batterys and is very quiet gives lots of gain. What I like best about it is that it has very good returns. This is good if you ever wan't to use any kind of reverbs. You find these at the guitar center stores. - Original Message - From: Jorge Paez jorgeap...@mac.com To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Thursday, January 27, 2011 3:15 PM Subject: Re: mixers Sure. Hi, I'm selling a realitivity new Tascam FW 1884 if your interested. The unit was only tried out over a three month period and is back in it's original shipping container and packed away. Asking only $850.00 plus shipping anywhere in the U.S. and Canada unless you have more options for shipping outside the USA. John At 09:13 AM 10/21/2008, you wrote: Hello, I had e-mailed you a while back with questions regarding mics compatible with the Zoom H2. I have since found four and purchased and am pleased with the results. My goal with my recorder and mics in addition to recording music and ambiant sounds is also to create audio drama. The easiest way for me would be to have a mic on all of the actors. I am looking at a few different mixers, the one that appeals to me the most is the Behringer UBB1002. My mics end in 1/8 inch male connectors, and I have a pretty good feeling this mixer uses XLR connections. Should I purchase 1/8 to XLR adaptors? Is there a better mixer you can suggest that is relatively inexpensive (under $500 prefferably) that will give me good quality and be easy to use for the visually impaired? I am also interested in getting a mic stand that is compatible with the H2's mic stand adaptor (the small stick that can be screwed on and off the bottom of the recorder). Is there a good mic stand you would suggest that can get up to a good height and also has boom? Re: mixers
Josh, It does look to me as if the Behringer UBB1002 does use balanced XLR microphone connectors. I think it is a nice mixer for the price but I would be concerned about trying to use your microphones with some type of adaptor. You could have a hum problem. Do you know if your microphones are balanced? If they are, then using them with an adaptor should work fine, but if your microphones are not balanced then I don't know. I thought I saw some mixers somewhere with unbalanced quarter inch microphone jacks but I can't find them now. You might try calling one of the places that sell mixers and ask them but you might get a hard sell and not be able to get off the phone without buying one.
