Hi all, what is a wma file? Thanks, David - Original Message - From: Kevin Lloyd [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list. Can't give those details for this particular model but I expect with regards to the shuffle question it will be the same as that for my own player the jukebox 2. Basically, you connect the player to your computer using the USB connection and then use the notmad explorer software to access the audio tracks. This is a folder on the MP3 player that contains all of your MP3, WAV WMA files. You can then either use control + A to select all tracks or highlight a single track. You then press the applications key which will bring up a context menu. Arrowing down the list will give you options such as play, play on your computer and add to playlist. You add the track or tracks to the playlist. You have the option to add to an existing playlist or to create a new playlist of your own naming. When you have added all of the tracks that you want in your playlist, you then press backspace to take you up a level which takes you out of the audio tracks folder and puts you in the main area. Pressing the letter P will take you to playlists and pressing enter will open this folder. You can then arrow up and down the list of playlists until you find the playlist you're interested in. When it's highlighted, press the applications key again and a context menu will open. Simply arrow down to shuffle and press enter. You now have a random playlist. Generally, I only have one playlist that I've called unimaginatively All. At present, there's only 355 tracks in there but I've had nearly 2,000 tracks in a playlist previously. The jukebox 2 is a 10GB player and can hold approximately 2,500 MP3 files encoded at 128kbps or 5,000 WMA files. Regards. hi, not sure yet, i've not had chance to explore it. you'd definately need sighted help to learn the menus and options etc, but that's the same with most electrical stuff. from the descriptions/reviews, once you've learned the layout and order of options, i'd guess you could manage on your own. email or msn [EMAIL PROTECTED] cheers - kevin - Original Message - From: angel adorno [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, November 16, 2004 12:42 AM Subject: Re: creative nomad jukebox 3 mp3 player hi can a person record on there own or do they need sighted help. thanks so much. The intuitive scroll wheel sounds like the wheel that's also on the side of the jukebox 2. I must admit that I wouldn't like to use this wheel to do a lot of navigation. Basically, it's a jog wheel that you can move up and down to move through the menu selections and then press it in to select the option you're looking for. On the plus side for the creative players, there's a great piece of software called notmad explorer that will give you complete access to the player when it's connected to your computer. This software will allow you to easily transfer music both to and from the creative MP3 player and it will allow you to create playlists plus a few other very useful functions. This is how I tend to use mine most often. I create the playlist whilst the player is connected to my computer and then take it away to enjoy while on the move. You could create a number of playlists and be able to navigate them using the scroll wheel but it can be a little hit and miss. Once you've started playing the playlist, you can use the dedicated buttons on the front of the player to move to next or previous tracks in the playlist. You could do this also if you were in an album to move from track to track if you are not in the playlist menu. So, really, it depends on how you intend to use your player. If you're using it in the same way, to create large playlists to listen to pretty much as you've created them when connected to your computer, you won't find it too bad. However, if you were constantly wanting to browse through the lists of artists, albums and tracks, it will be more of a challenge. Regards. hi bruce, the H-120 and the IHP-120 are one in the same. iRiver just rebranded them. i've no ide about the 320 as i've not seen it's specs. from what i can gather, anything that previously had the IHP prefix, is now just H. email or msn [EMAIL PROTECTED] cheers - kevin - Original Message - From: Bruce Toews [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list.
