Re: lexicon studio core 32 volume controls?

2005-04-14 Thread Joe Paton
In that case, you need to adjust the volumes in the card mixer. Have you
got SNDVOL32 on your system? If not I can send it to you. I have it here
controling 2 cards successfully. If the mixer on your card is not
accessible, Contact,
the RNIB vollunteer unit: 0845 6042341 They will come out and bring some
eyes that work and try to help you. All they ask in return is a little bit
of appreciation.

cheers,

Simon,
Can you see the card in device manager? Does the card share an interrupt
with another device? this might impact the function of the card.
Is your system still running windows 98? Is there a conflict between the
sound card you are using for speech at present and the lexicon? When you
run SNDVOL32, go to properties, do you have the view hence the option of
modifying the controls for both cards? I'm not sure if this works in 98,
but I can see both cards in the volume control in 2k and xp. Have you been
able to contact the manufacturer or retailer for help?
BTW I haven't posted this to the accessuk list as well.

sndvol32 won't run, that is the problem, apart from that the card doesn't
seem to conflict with anything else, I don't use another sound card for
speech, I use a dectalk express.
yes, I do still run 98, and I have tried the maker, but there tech support
may just as well be called non tech support if you know what I mean.

Hi,
If you go to controlpannel, sounds and multimedia, audio devices, do you
see the card? If you go to winamp, control-p preferrences, output plugins,
configure, where is winamp looking to play audio? Do you have in sounds
and multimedia, is the check in the box use only preferred devices?
Can you see the card their?

Do you have an on-board sound card on your system?
Cheers for now.

yes, all that is present and correct, I do have an onboard card, but it
shouldn't be working, as I had this card installed when the system was
built for me.

lexicon studio core 32 volume controls?

2005-04-12 Thread goshawk
hello list,
I have a rather unusual problem with my soundcard, it is a lexicon
studiocore32, so it is not the usual standard soundcard, which means that
tech support for it seems to be a bit on the non existent side.
the problem I am having, is that I can't get any volume controls up for it,
and as well as that, I can't get things with software speech such as k1000
or window-eyes installation to talk through it.
has anyone else had this problem and managed to fix it?
a bit more info for those who may know the card, I use the LDI-12T interface.

Simon
