Hey guys,
Alright, i need your input ehre. I wanna do some true multi-track
production. What is the best program to use with window-eyes, goldwave,
or

audacity.
I wanna be able to mix 6 or 8 tracks together to produce shows, promos,
ETC.

Any info would be appreciated. I have an extensive audio background, but
mainly have been using external digital editers such as a tascam 2488
stand

alone editer.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jed

Right! Goldwave is not a multi track editor, to turn it into one you'll
need Multiquence, as it stands Goldwave only edits 2 track files but
yep! its probably the most accessible 2 track editor out there for the PC.

I understand that Sound Forge Studio i now a multi track editor - so it
damn well should be for the price charged - however in terms of
accessibility out of the box its very poor or, certainly Sound Forge
Audio I have here is so I'm guessing that Sound Forge Studio isn't any
better - .

Have you given Audicty a go?

There are two versions of Audacity you can download on that page. There is
1.2.6, which is the stable version and there is a 1.3.9 beata version, which
isn't stable and is available for testing. I think the beata version is more
accessible with JAWS. I used to use the stable release, but then started
using the beata versions.
If you want to download the beata version, go to this link.
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/beta_windows
Then just go to the heading that says "Recommended Download" and the first
link you should see after that heading is called "Audacity 1.3.9 Installer."

Well, the Source forge link, that Janelle gave out has, I think, more than
one download link, which kind of confused me, as to the right one to
download, for XP Home! That's what I was talking about, not a google link!

Here is a copy of her text: "Audacity is accessible and it's free.
You can download Audacity from:
http://www.audacity.sourceforge.net/
"

I will go there again, to see if I can figure out what to do, "all on my
own", which is how it should be, right?

These might help you do that. Here's a link to a website where there is an
audio tutorial on Audacity.
http://www.blind-geek-zone.net/audio.htm
Once you go there just click on the link that says "Audacity
Presentation.mp3."
Also, here is a link to an article that discusses using Audacity with JAWS.
http://vip.chowo.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/jaws/Audacity-1.3.3-Guide.html
These aren't the newest tutorials, but they should help.
I don't use Window Eyes, but perhaps these tutorials will also work with
Window
Eyes.
I also have a Microsoft Word document of shortcut keys for Audacity. If you
or
anybody else wants it, just let me know and I'll send it to you off list,
because I don't know if we are able to send attachments on this list.

Audacity can do more than two tracks.
When you press R to start recording, then press the spacebar to stop
recording, then press R again to start recording again, a second track will
be created once you press R the second time.
Same thing applies for the third and fourth tracks and so on.

RE: multi track editers

2009-11-12 Thread Janelle Vacanti
These might help you do that. Here's a link to a website where there is an
audio tutorial on Audacity.
http://www.blind-geek-zone.net/audio.htm
Once you go there just click on the link that says "Audacity Presentation.mp3."
Also, here is a link to an article that discusses using Audacity with JAWS.
http://vip.chowo.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/jaws/Audacity-1.3.3-Guide.html
These aren't the newest tutorials, but they should help.
I don't use Window Eyes, but perhaps these tutorials will also work with Window
Eyes.
I also have a Microsoft Word document of shortcut keys for Audacity. If you or
anybody else wants it, just let me know and I'll send it to you off list,
because I don't know if we are able to send attachments on this list.

Re: multi track editers

2009-11-12 Thread Dane Trethowan
Well correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think Sound Forge is a multi track
editor and - if the latest version I'm looking at is anything to go by - I
don't think its nearly as accessible as it once was?

Hey there, wow, nice.
Do you have any ways to edit, highlight audio, mix stuff down, and all of
that?

Thanks,

Audacity can do more than two tracks.
When you press R to start recording, then press the spacebar to stop
recording, then press R again to start recording again, a second track will
be created once you press R the second time.
Same thing applies for the third and fourth tracks and so on.
