They are already on EBay for around $275 US. Just paste the name of the
radio in the new search field and you will get many hits.

Cheers...Keith

Re: sirius receivers

2006-10-18 Thread Bob Seed
Toronto, ON, September 28, 2006: Sirius Canada has announced the
availability of the long anticipated Stiletto 100: its first "live" portable
radio, featuring WiFi, Yahoo! music purchasing software, and the ability to
save music for playback later. Measuring 4.7" x 2" x 1", Stiletto 100 stores
up to 100 hours of live Sirius Satellite Radio programming on 2 GB of
embedded memory; and has a 2.2" LCD, Aurora graphic user interface, and a
six-way navigation control that provides easy one handed access to all
features and content.
The Stiletto 100, which Sirius advises will become available at select
retailers in Canada before the holidays, allows users listen to live Sirius
programming anywhere its terrestrial or satellite signals can be pulled in.
Housed in a package about the size of a hard-disc-based MP3 player, the
Stiletto 100 allows users to store up to 100 hours of Sirius content by:
automatically recording hours of music from listeners' favourite channels;
scheduling recordings up to six hours long of any program; and allowing
users to save up to 10 hours of individual songs from live Sirius Satellite
Radio broadcasts by a simple press of the "love" button. The Stiletto 100
incorporates the Sirius Universal Connector, which will enable use in a wide
variety of audio systems and accessories being developed by partner
manufacturers.

With WiFi capability, users can pull in limited Sirius programming in
locations where the signal can't reach, so long as there is an accessible
WiFi network available. Sirius' Online Listening provides subscribers with
access to more than 60 of Sirius' music channels, plus Howard Stern's two
channels, Martha Stewart Living Radio, OutQ, and other original talk
programming.

The user's own audio files (in MP3/WMA format) can also be stored on the
Stiletto 100 and managed with the included My SIRIUS Studio software for
Windows PCs. Stiletto 100 is compatible with most Windows-based Internet
music providers' download and subscription services, says the firm.

The Yahoo! Music Jukebox software will be included with the Stiletto 100
package. Any individual song bookmarked by the user on the Stiletto 100 is
moved into a favourites list, which can be accessed by a PC application when
the unit is connected to user's computer. The application allows users to
look up and purchase songs, full albums, or explore artists' other offerings
through the Yahoo! Music Jukebox software, or other compatible online music
download or subscription services. Once the song is purchased or rented, it
can be transferred onto the Stiletto 100.

Other features include 30 channel presets; Sirius Replay (which allows users
to pause, rewind and replay 60 minutes of live radio); "Game Alert" (which
prompts the listener when favourite games are being broadcast and alerts
when scores change); "Game Zone" (a listing all of the users favourite teams
in one virtual category); parental controls and channel lockout.

For C$449.99 at retail, the Stiletto 100 will include the radio, standard
battery, slim battery, AC power adaptor, vehicle kit, headset antenna, ear
buds, PC cable, My SIRIUS Studio software and Yahoo! Music Jukebox software.
A home kit (C$99.99), additional vehicle kit (C$99.99), executive system
(C$199.99), additional batteries and headphones, and other accessories will
also be available.

Although the units do not have a speech output they are pretty straight
forward to operate with 30 channel presets, volume up and down, scan up and
scan down etc. As suggested the best thing to do is to try one out before
buying, and in that way you will be able to determine whether satelite radio
is for you or not.

Although the units do not have a speech output they are pretty straight
forward to operate with 30 channel presets, volume up and down, scan up and
scan down etc. As suggested the best thing to do is to try one out before
buying, and in that way you will be able to determine whether satelite radio
is for you or not.

well, the Audiovox radio we have is fairly easy to use. The new
Stiletto 100 is a sweet little radio which can be used anywhere and
it does have some audio cues.

I haven't seen a Sirius or XM receiver that can't be used, although each
person has their own difficulties, so I would say go to a place that
displays Sirius and try one out.
