 ÉGRÉGORE
Egrégore is originally an audiovisual performance realized in 2011 that
exploits the group movement phenomenas. Complex and expressive behaviors
are generated and controlled by a computer and transcribed in sound and
image. A crowd of particles deploys itself, reorganizes, blends into
living structures more or less coherent, evolving from a chaotic
 movement towards a cohesive group.

 ÉGRÉGORE - SOURCE
Egregore - source is an edition that aims to archive and document the
performance: all the elements in égrégore - optimized for a standard
personal computer - are supplied: the instrument created for the
performance, the software that enabled the creation of the performance
and a document of usage, all under a free license and with source code.
A digital version is freely downloadable on the P2P networks and a usb
key with all this data will as well be available.

 DISTRIBUTED PERFORMANCE
This instrument will be played live remotely by chdh the XX.XX.2014. The
distribution of the code allows to use this physical dispersion as a
new performance vector. The different personal computers used to decode
the contents of the key, geographically distributed around the world,
united to each other by internet constitute the stage where takes
place this new representation of égrégore. This event allows all, thanks
to the distributed software, to connect at the same moment, to meet and
to attend a new version of the performance.

 Hello everyone,

the recording of the final improvisation night, 14th August, is already
 online on Michael's space - http://pdcon11.sinespine.org/**
 final-impro-audio/ http://pdcon11.sinespine.org/final-impro-audio/.

I left it untreated, in flac format. The recording is a stereo mix of the
mixer's output. I think whoever played will recognise itself there.

they still have three different FOURCCs :

 I would love one.

a black one might be difficult because the printing color is black
already - white would be really easy. is it only you who wants a black
one or do you think a black shirt is cool in general (how many shirts
should be black?) - i'll see what i can do

pricing isnt settled - persons who buy them to sell them at
conventions will get the shirts at cost price. the profit feeds back
to pd community. most likely money will go into projects for
documentation (see earlier posts on the shirts).

it would be nice to have a link on pd related sites such as

[PD] troubles with multichannel output

2010-02-17 Thread palmieri, ricardo
hi people.

im working in an installation using 4 audio+video channels, running in
a quadcore, 2 nvidia9600gt, 4gbram, under ubuntu 9.10 and pd 0.43.

i built this installation last november in argentina. now, we bought a
complete new setup (with some small differences) to replicate the work
in a new museum in lima-peru.

my trouble is: in the last installation, i used a 7.1 onboard
audiocard, with an Intel chipset. using an stupid alsa force-reload,
i had all the channels opened in PD 0.41 (in ubuntu 9.10) working
great.

now i bought a new motherboard, without a 7.1 channels, and i've tried
to use severals pci audioboard - a 4.1 crystal clear chipset, a 5.1
Via VT1724, and a m-audio 2496 4x4. all of then, in a pci slot.

ok, finally my trouble: i can get all channels working separated in
pd, but, all the time i hear a kind of metallic sound instead my
original sound. if i change back to a normal stereo, i can hear the
audio normally.

i made all the test of 5.1, 4.1 and 3.1. i changed to Pd 0.41, 0.42
and 0.43. in all cases, i have the same trouble.
i made some tests also, using vlc and speaker-test, and the
multichannel looks working fine ou of pd.

somebody know how to solve this? i will have my opening in the next 24
feb, and would be amazing to have the 4 audio channels working with my
4 video channels (running in pdp+gem)

thanks a lot

I am a huge supporter of this idea, I really like this kind of meeting.
I've helped run a few in NYC, and participated in others. We can find a
way to make it fit the Pd group.

What I think works well is just setting up a bunch of 1 hour time slots and
some rooms. Then the morning starts with people talking to each other,
hanging out and eating breakfast. Then there is 1 hour to discuss and plan
the schedule, which the whole group does together. People suggest sessions,
people offer to lead sessions, and everyone discusses how to fit them into
 the schedule.

I am happy to help run the process or just participate.

 Hi Ricardo,

 Thank you for the compliment.

I'd be happy to share any of my patches, problem has been that they end
up working in specific contexts. It has been my intention to simplify
the patches and publish them as examples. For MAM the patch is very big
and complex (and for a reason I can't yet figure out also broken) I'm
hoping to replace form of the PD stuff with python code (the CA-like part)

I'll be working on some more elegant patches using the ann_som, they are
 just not ready yet.

Any particular patches your interested in? My ol performance stuff needs
an overhall. I had not touched it for two years and have since dropped OSX.

Anyhow just drop me a line if there is something specific your
 interested in.

2008-06-04 Thread palmieri, ricardo
hi fellows..

first, i loved the new interface for mac osx.
here, in my powerbook g4 OSX.4.11, everything works fine.

for now i have three questions:

- is very hard to compile the [pix_artoolkit] with artoolkit support?
- the [pix_opencv_series] will be great, but is the trouble the opencv
dependencies, or have some quick solution to compile it inside the
packet?
- are u thinking in compile the gridflow to the packet, or its a far dream? ;)

anyway, congratulations and thanks a lot for once more great packet hans!

it's not a matter of right and wrong.

mathematicians tend to put the origin in the lower-left corner (like a

computer-graphics prefer the upper-left corner (back in the old days,
the cursor would appear in the 1st line on the screen)

openGL has been designed by mathematicians.

btw, this fuzz is the reason why the tables in Pd are never oriented the

you need to have artoolkit installed and might have to set the

Candidate 2!! Almost there! Yes, there are a couple known bugs, and
most definitely unknown bugs. Let's find them and make a final
 release!

  * Bitstream Vera Sans Mono is now default font on Windows and
 GNU/Linux
  * Bitstream Vera Sans Mono is included in the Windows installer
  * Monaco is the default font on Mac OS X
  * fixed GUI size, should actually be the same size on all
 platforms now
  * pdp and pidip should support quicktime/mjpeg/png and theora now
  * pdp_ieee1394 included on Mac OS X
  * the Mac OS X package looks much better, thanks to Steffen
 [EMAIL PROTECTED]
  * default preferences are embedded into the Pd.app on Mac OS X
  * revamped font flags and added '-font-weight' flag

 A couple of known issues:

  * it's still missing Gem font support on Mac OS X :(
  * the delread~/sqrt~ bug is still not fixed :(

Test away and file bugs in the bug tracker!
