[PD] [pix_opencv] binary release

2014-02-10 Thread Antoine Villeret
Dear all,

I'm proud to announce the first release candidate for `[pix_opencv]`.
I've upload binaries for MacOSX, Windows and Ubuntu 64bit (Ubuntu 32bit
will come in one week).
All needed OpenCV shared libraries are included.

It's here : https://github.com/avilleret/pix_opencv/releases/tag/v0.2

Please let me know any issue (through github issue system).

Kind regard

Antoine

Hey Peter,

That's great, thanks for the report. I think you should post this to the bug
tracker so it isn't lost in the list volume.

[PD] pix_openCV binaries for OSX 10.6.8

2011-11-29 Thread Peter Venus
Hello List!

while we had our Patching circle here in Graz last week,
we discovered on some Problems and  found a solution when compiling pix_openCV
against PD-extended and GEM 0.93.3,
which we like to share (Maybe these problems are trivial to some, for us they
weren´t ;-) ).

We found a Problem in configure.ac, where the following line needs to be
uncommented:

dnl AC_CHECK_LIB(cv, cvSobel, , AC_MSG_ERROR(you need to install opencv library
(libcv)))

another problem was hidden in the makefile, where

CPPFLAGS need to be set to CPPFLAGS += -DDARWIN -arch i386

After these changes, we where able to compile pix_openCV successfully.

A zip with the compiled binaries for OSX 10.6.8 (intel), PD-ext 0.42.5 and GEM
0.93.3
can be downloaded here:
http://puredata.info/community/projects/software/opencv/releases/0.2

Another small issue: in the help-files, one needs to insert [pix_rgba] after
[pix_film] or [pix_video]
since it seems that the [colorspace RGBA(-message (sent to the film/video) does
not seem to work.

All the original sources for pix_openCV are available from
http://hangar.org/wikis/lab/doku.php?id=start:puredata_opencv
and the openCV-Framework for OSX can be found on
http://www.ient.rwth-aachen.de/cms/software/opencv/

cheers,
Peter & Seppo

I'd just uploaded a version of pix_opencv binary objects compiled in
MACOSX 10.6 tested with Pd-extended version 0.42.5-extended - it's a svn
revision

probably the version you where using was compiled against gem version in
extended 0-41 ...

... as you know macos is not our development platform, so it's
possible you find some more bugs :) but morphology is working well :)

opencv pkg seems to run fine with lucid =)

IIRC I just had to build pix_opencv against libvm.so.4

Re: [PD] pix_opencv pdp_opencv segfault

2010-12-23 Thread Yvan Volochine
thanks for your prompt answers.

we updated to maverick and installed pd-extended and opencv (deb packages).
we now have a segfault with Gem (closing gemwin) and gridflow crashes
the OS (see "grdflow v4l2" thread).

it appears that the issue is related to fglrx driver and ATI video
card because the same setup on an old asus a6g works fine.
the machine is a thinkpad w500 (core 2 duo, ATI FireGL 5200, 2.6.35-24-generic).

the weird thing is that all openGL tests seem to work fine
(fgl_glxgears, glxgears, etc) but I'm not a specialist..

cheers,
_yvan

ola,

yes, lluis might be right,
but could you be more precise
on which example gives you the crash?

we also fixed a few more things
in more recent version ( for lucid or maverick ),
so maybe you can try to upgrade too,
unfortunately the binary packages are only for 32bits ( i386 ),
but otherwise just compile it.

That will remain the same, no changes. Same with Windows.

be included in Pd-extended to be easy to get and use.

The video libraries tend to be the hardest for people to build

2010-10-09 Thread ydego...@gmail.com

ola,

this doesn't really answer to the 2 main questions :

* will pure:dyne and pd-extended debian packages
will be compatible ? ( i doubt it ),
if so why make the work twice?

* how will you install pd-extended on Mac OSX ?

i don't get the future of pd-extended,
i'm already lost enough in all pd branches
and yes i think this community diverges.

That is certainly not true. You're looking from the wrong perspective.
It's not the case that someone decides _not_ to include certain
libraries, it's more that some people are interested in doing the work
to get certain libraries included. In the case of pdp there is not even
a need for that effort, since it is already included, as IOhannes

ola,

it's not really a big annoucement,
just an update of some code that can only work
with Open CV 2.0...

as only Lucid is shipping Open CV 2.0
( but strangely the packages are called libcv4, libhighgui4 and libcvaux4 ),
this update only makes sense if you use Lucid,
so you can find a .deb package for Lucid only here :
http://artefacte.org/pdpkg/pdopencv/

( it only worlks with a lucid 32 bits and pd 0.41.4,
for other systems you can find the source code
and instructions here :
http://www.hangar.org/wikis/lab/doku.php?id=start:puredata_opencv )

i mainly fixes some problems with optical flows objects like these :
http://www.hangar.org/wikis/lab/lib/exe/detail.php?id=start%3Apuredata_opencv&cache=cache&media=start:pdp_opencv_of_lk.png
and add the SURF algorithm

This is important to note since 10.6 defaults to 64 bit when compiling.

[PD] pix_opencv with gem-0.92-3, anyone?

2010-04-30 Thread Julian Villegas
Hi,

I'm in a macbook (MAC OS X v.10.6.3) and I'm trying to run pix_opencv with the
lastest version of gem (0.92-3). As I was recompiling pix_opencv (See
http://www.hangar.org/wikis/lab/doku.php?id=start:puredata_opencv#download_install)

I ran into several errors like this:

pix_opencv_laplace.cc:207: error: ‘cvCvtPlaneToPix’ was not declared in this
scope

preceded by this warning:

ld: warning: in /Library/Frameworks//OpenCV.framework/OpenCV, missing required
architecture x86_64 in file

Does anyone have successfully compiled this library? thank you for your
insights and I apologize if this wasn't the best forum for this question.
Please let me know if I should redirect it to Pd-develop.

Have a nice weekend.

i builded opencv, and pix_opencv, just now, booth from svn and error
remains the same, but instead "pd_gui: pd process exited" there was
"socket receive error: Connection reset by peer (104)".
i tried also different webcam, and "v4l2: VIDIOC_S_FMT: Invalid
argument" dissapears(seems like it is because my laptop webcam, but it
is working good)

ola,

this means you use a different Gem than the one
we compiled with,
that was the one from Pd-extended 0.41.4
( the stable version )

install pd-extended 0.41.4
or compile pdopencv for your gem...

Re: [PD] pix_opencv

2009-01-25 Thread lluis gomez i bigorda

hi Loic,

again I apologize for the big mess on pix_opencv macosx versions ... and
again I must say macosx is not my usual system ...

anyway I managed several times to install it on intelmacs, using this
procedure ::

- get cvs version of openCV and compile it (I think I followed that link
http://wiki.nuigroup.com/Installing_Touchlib_on_Mac_OS_X)

- get and compile pix_opencv using this makefile
http://hangar.org/wikis/lab/pd/opencv/Makefile.darwin (instead of the
one in the pd-svn) you must change the makefile to match yout system ::

PD_DIR = /Users/lluisgomezbigorda/pd-0.41-4
GEM_DIR = /Users/lluisgomezbigorda/Gem
OPENCV_CFLAGS = -I/usr/local/include/opencv

.- that's all. copy the pd_darwin files in your extra folder and that
should work.

--

if you have errors like "unsupported format", that could be a mismatch
with the Gem version you used to compile pix_opencv and the ones running
in your system ... or (please any macosx dev), can also be a mismatch in
the compiler versions used to compile Gem and pix_opencv ???
- anyway if I get that errors, I usually solved them compiling all Gem
in the same environment I compiled pix_opencv ... but that's another
history ...

another tip for macosx is that pix_opencv only works with RGBA pixes
wich are not the default one in macosx ... so Yes, another mess here are
the helpfiles. all the help files need a [pix_rgba] in order to work on
macosx ..

hope that helps ...

looking forward to do better documentation on that ..
ll.

I also have dowloaded this by svn is the same thing :

svn co https://opencvlibrary.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/opencvlibrary
opencvlibrary

and found this inside:

opencvlibrary/trunk/opencv (with a make_frameworks.sh so it seems
related to os X)

but also this opencvlibrary/brabches/MACOSX_DEVELOPMENT which seems to
not be the same thing.

(apparentely I tried yesterday to install all the stuff I found so
that's why ther was such a bazar in my usr/local/lib and usr/local/
include ...

can someone please tell me the one and only one stuff I need to install.

thanks

loic

[PD] pix_opencv

2009-01-23 Thread Loic Kessous
thanks for the replies, so now that I have so hope to make it work, I
try to restart from scratch :-) to be sure that I have the right
opencv installation and then the other ressources I need (GEM and Pd)

first what I really need for opencv specific things?

for os X do I need the framework stuff?

I have some opencv examples (standalone) that work using a 'local
framework'.
I made yesterday some unsuccessful tentatives to make this work with
Pd, as there is the tc and tk famework in the os X package, I though
that it could be an issue to put the opencv package here..., also I
tried to put it in other places as /library/Frameworks.

anyway, now I removed all the opencv.framework files.

I also had a look at the usr/local/lib and apparently I it was quit
messy (I probalbly installed opencv too many times), so I made it
clean, same thing for the usr/include:

before:
sh-3.2# cd ../lib/
sh-3.2# ls
mageMagick-6.4.1libcvaux.la libfuse.dylib
libml.2.dylib
libcv.1.dylib libcvhaartraining.a libfuse.la
libml.dylib
libcv.2.0.0.dylib libcxcore.1.0.0.dylib libhighgui.1.0.0.dylib libml.la
libcv.2.dylib libcxcore.1.dylib libhighgui.1.dylib
libulockmgr.
0.0.0.dylib
libcv.dylib libcxcore.2.0.0.dylib libhighgui.2.0.0.dylib
libulockmgr.
0.dylib
libcv.lalibcxcore.2.dylib libhighgui.2.dylib
libulockmgr.a
libcvaux.1.0.0.dyliblibcxcore.dylib libhighgui.dylib
libulockmgr.dylib
libcvaux.1.dyliblibcxcore.lalibhighgui.la
libulockmgr.la
libcvaux.2.0.0.dyliblibfuse.0.0.0.dylib libml.1.0.0.dylib
pkgconfig
libcvaux.2.dyliblibfuse.0.dylib libml.1.dylib
libcvaux.dylib libfuse.a libml.2.0.0.dylib

/usr/local/include
sh-3.2# ls
cv.hcvhaartraining.hcvwimage.h
cxtypes.h
cv.hpp cvmat.hpp cxcore.h
highgui.h
cvaux.h cvtypes.h cxcore.hpp ml.h
cvaux.hpp cvver.h cxerror.h
cvcompat.h cvvidsurv.hpp cxmisc.h

after:

/usr/local/include
sh-3.2# ls
sh-3.2#

sh-3.2# cd ../lib/
sh-3.2# ls
ImageMagick-6.4.1 pkgconfig

SO NOW, FIRST STEP AGAIN: Can some please tell me what opencv version
I should download? (FYI, I use a iMac intel 2.66 GHz intel core Duo os
X 10.5.6) ?

this one using CVS (according to
http://opencv.willowgarage.com/wiki/Mac_OS_X_OpenCV_Port)?
and this command (that was one of my previous tentatives, in
addition to darwin port and others that I don't remember):

cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonym...@opencvlibrary.cvs.sourceforge.net:/
cvsroot/opencvlibrary co -P opencv

thanks for your help,
loic

hello,

for pix_opencv you must add [pix_rgba] in help-example
" In order to make the pix_opencv objects work You always had to set colorspace
RGB. otherwise, You will not see any effect."

Hi All,

I found that there is a Pd library called pix_opencv in the pd-
extended source folder, but I can't load (red dot line box) the
externals with the already compiled app that I found here :

http://puredata.info/downloads/

Mac OS X Intel (Mac Pro, MacBook, all Intel Macs)
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/pure-data/Pd-0.40.3-extended-macosx104-i386.dmg

does that mean that it is not working yet? or just that it's not yet
in the official distribution?

(I tried to compile it myself and now they compile and load but they
don't do anything...)

please help,

loic
