[PD] "game over" - musical computer game performance

2017-08-16 Thread Christof Ressi
dear list,

I'd like to share a video of my project "game over", an audio-visual
performance for solo clarinet with motion sensor + computer game:

https://vimeo.com/229934639

the game engine is made with openFrameworks, levels and game actors are
scripted with JSON files. all electronic sounds come from a Roland D-110
emulator I developed for Pd.

enjoy :-)

Christof

Great project. I am working on something similar, called Life Soundtrack:

https://github.com/residuum/Life-Soundtrack

Currently it is an Android app with random elements, that uses the step
detector to change BPM. The idea is to create an app that takes every
possible sensor data, time of day etc. and uses not only current data
but also history to evolve over time.

Unfortunately, I have no idea on the algorithm to use, so the current
state is frozen.

Best regards,
Thomas

yep, cause I was rewriting, revising it, so I took it down and shared the
revision here on the list and on facebook

sure, it's just that it's still a work in progress, and we were also
talking about putting it into Pd's own documentation

well, we've been having lots of discussions, so that's the point of not
making this too much available. A lot of things changed in the new release
and it is not up to date with that. Moreover, I'm proposing more changes to
Pd that would make things simpler and easier. There are currently
conflicting issues. Please check
https://github.com/pure-data/pure-data/pull/183 (I made this
link/discussion available to this list yesterday by the way).

[PD] Porres Externals document

2017-08-16 Thread Peter P.
Hi,

http://puredata.info/docs/tutorials/
links "HOWTO Install and Load Externals"
to
https://sites.google.com/site/porres/Using%20Pd%20Externals.pdf?attredirects=0=1
and
https://sites.google.com/site/porres/Using%20Pd%20Externals.pdf
respectively, but these links are dead. The document seems to be
available here still.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3AoiT0xk8fnYWV5anJZeXZ2MDg/view

Perhaps the above links could be changed. I am wondering if the paths
etc in this document are still up to date and am grateful this document
exists!

best, P

Thanks for the report. I've opened an issue on Github:

That looks like a bug.

Enabling OSS is not a big deal as it will only be actually compiled if the OSS
headers are detected. We should fix the broken compilation when it's disabled,
however.
