Re: [PD] Problem with old complex gem patch in new computer

2020-06-02 Thread cyrille henry

hello,
According to the error, I think your problem is that the shader is not loaded.
This is maybee because it can only be loaded after the gemwin creation. It's
possible that few years ago it was possible to load them with a loadbang.

cheers

Hi, im trying to run a very old gem patch i did more than 10 years ago in a new

When i try look for last error i get:

Glsl_program :cant link zero shaders.

Im not been using pd the last 5 or 6 years. So im out of data. Is there any big
chance in gem or pd i should know? Any idea why is not working?

Im using pd 0.50.2 64 bit in windows 10

Thanks

[PD] quacktrip - jacktrip (low-latency audio) from behind home routers

2020-06-02 Thread Miller Puckette via Pd-list
To Pd list -

This is very preliminary, but some of you might be interested in this. I've
been working for the last month or two on making an easy-ti-use implementation
of jacktrip to allow people stuck at home to play music together. A test
version of this is available on msp.ucsd.edu/tools/quacktrip .

The jacktrip implementation is based on the one in TPM by Roman Haefeli and
Johannes Schuett (sorry for the no-diacritical spelling).

It's been tried out by 4 or 5 people so far, seems to work with some
hiccups. I'll be getting back to work on it after Pd 0.51-0 gets finalized.

cheers
Miller

it doesn't matter, that's it, file it under issues, it's fine ;)

Yes, exactly. This is what GUI plugins are for. The PD GUI is basically Tcl
scripts, so you can modify/extend much of the default behavior.

Re: [PD] Pd-list Digest, Vol 183, Issue 6

2020-06-02 Thread Christof Ressi

Hi Peter,

please don't reply to Pd-list digest e-mails because it breaks the
thread. Instead reply to the actual e-mail (if you don't receive the
e-mails, you might have to subscribe to the list.)

Since I’m not a PD pro, please confirm this works as intended:

I’d like to publish this for posterity, so I want it to be as accessible as
possible. It’s a basic DMX light control example with some explainer text.
Between this and Max examples, it took a lot of digging around to figure this
out because I couldn’t find an example like this in my native tongue!
I’d like to save the next person some time, as it’s pretty valuable.

That said, I’d like to get this on puredata.info as that seems like the most
permanent repository, though I could also put it up on my github.

Peter.

b) declare the path to it in the patch you are using it in with [declare
-path list-abs]. It assumes that the root folder for all your externals
(~/Documents/Pd/externals/) is defined in the global paths preferences
and will append the list-abs folder to that and search for the object or
abstraction in there.
you can declare this dependency by putting a [declare -path list-abs] in
your patch.

Thanks ! I totally forgot about that possibility.
Will give it a try.

You're right ! If there's a way to do this with the tools available,
that's better.

I know it was bad timing. I just stumbled upon this idea recently,
and of course i really wasn't thinking about this upcoming release.

you can also open requests on github if you will, though it's nice to
have them discussed on the list.

where/how exactly would i do that ?
i can just find "issues" as a category, which my request isn't.
(of course i have some other minor suggestions, too ;-))

Anyway, I opened a ticket for this 'init' request, I'll get to it
eventually - see https://github.com/pure-data/pure-data/issues/1050

Thanks a lot, Alex !

This request is anyway the more important one, since i figure it would
mean expanding PD's core code.

Would be great to have it sometime !

Best

Oliver

[PD] [PD-announce] 3dPdModular crowdfunding campaign

2020-06-02 Thread Alexandros
Sorry for cross-posting,

I'd like to share with you a crowdfunding campaign I have started for
the 3dPdModular system. Some of you already know it (was: 3dPd), many
don't. It's a hardware modular synthesizer system running on a single
Raspberry Pi, programmed in Pd.
It looks much like an analog modular synthesizer, but offers a variety
of features not present in analog systems, such as cross-fading between
patches, module cloning, saving patches on a phone app, and more.

The campaign will run for a month. You can find it here
https://gogetfunding.com/3dpdmodular/. The synth's website is this
https://3dpdmodular.cc/.

Please share with anyone interested.
