Well, I'd like to be brutal but I can't see anything to criticize. The
composition is especially effective with the subject placed low in the
frame and off centre. Just terrific!

Just because Samsung is producing those new lenses doesn't mean they
are making a profit on them.
Which is a situation that Samsung may very well be able to endure for
a while in order to establish itself in the market.
Unlike Pentax, who can probably NOT afford to do so.

I am sorry, Peter, I just like this photograph, so I cannot really offer
you any constructive critique. May be in time, if I get to review your
recent work, I could notice something worth telling you.

As it is, it is evidently processed, as it is unlikely that the light
and color was the way it is presented, but it is fine. The subject
matter is also just fine, if may be not absolutely original, but that's
not to say that it is no good.

So, it is all around good photograph in all respects, both technical and

Re: PESO: (Very) Large Format Camera

2011-05-13 Thread Daniel J. Matyola
Some camera obscura have lenses to permit larger apertures and
therefore brighter images. The use of film (or digital media),
therefore, may be a more reliable way to dsitinguish between a camera
and a camera obscura. Better yet, I suggest, if one can walk into it,
I would describe it as a camera obscura.

Nice capture boris, I like the geometry here but would probably eliminate
about half of the ground between the steps and the bottom edge of the image.

to
seeing you and Dave and any others that show up. I have to be in California
June

Like others, I prefer the colour and composition of the second one.
Very spectacular!

The first one is a good exercise in geometrical shapes and I like the
way you've managed to get excellent detail on the underside of the
bridge deck, which would have been in deep shadow. It's a very contrasty
scene that's been handled well - a bit of overexposure at the top of the
column is the only drawback.
