I shot with the DA* 50-135mm, which I haven't used in a while; gosh, that's a nice lens--heavy, but very nice. Hot and humid today, so I didn't stay as long as I had intended. While shooting, I kept thinking, I can't wait for fall--this would be so much more fun if it was cooler. On the way home, a big black cloud rolled in, which the last two shots in the small gallery depict. Pretty dramatic. It did end up raining, but nothing much to speak of. Walt Well, personally I had a Toyota Corolla (make 2004) that I received from the dealership brand new. To say the least, it wasn't too successful a car so much so that I was quite surprised given that it wasn't just any car. Three years later I got another Corolla, this time made in Japan, and it was a different beast all together. I am speaking about things such as assembly gaps or plastics or cabin noise. Both drove well, although both had an odd habit of getting their steering wheel out of balance so that in order to go straight I had to turn the steering a bit to the side. The best company leasing car I drove so far was Kia C'eed (made in Slovakia). I drove it for 2.5 years having clocked 55,000 km - no problems whatsoever, it just worked and nicely too. Re: PESO: Green Power
Thanks, Frank. The car was parked at a bit of an angle to the curb, and I had to get close and use a wide lens, because there was a tree with a fence around it alongside the car. [That's also why I show only half the car]. I struggled with getting the car straight in the viewfinder, and finally I decided (or perhaps rationalized) that if I tilted it a bit as if it was climbing a hill, that might suggest the power I was trying to depict. Any way, that's my story, and I'm sticking with it. Re: PESO - Church of the Holy Donut
From: Steven Desjardins Krispy Kreme is big in the South, but DD is catching on. I still like their coffee, but most of the locations down here are conveniences stores where the donuts are delivered in the morning. I grew up about a mile from an old style DD, and you could get them still warm if you timed it right, which usually meant before noon. One thing I've noticed lately is even the old style Dunkin Donuts seems to be trucking in the doughnuts. Krispy Kreme still makes them there in the store. I have both a Krispy Kreme and an old style Dunkin Donuts a 10 minute walk of my home; depends on which way I turn going out the front door. That 10 minute walk is important - just enough exercise to burn off the fat from two doughnuts. Otherwise, I can't afford to allow myself the pleasure. - No virus found in this message. Few PESOs by Boris and Galia
Hi! During that trip to Upper Galilee recently, one of the evenings we drove by the hills late afternoon and shot some landscapes. Also twice I woke up early and went on hunting for light. So here are the PESOs on these subjects: http://pentax-ways.blogspot.com/2011/08/peso-2011-30-hill-of-galilee.html (Galia and Boris) http://pentax-ways.blogspot.com/2011/08/peso-2011-31-sun-is-rising.html (Boris) http://pentax-ways.blogspot.com/2011/08/peso-2011-32-hills-of-galilee.html (Boris) A little point about the first two images (the same village shot by Galia with K-7 and DA21 and Boris with K-7 and FA 20). No matter how I tried I couldn't bring the color balance to match. So they look somewhat different in this respect. Be brutal and honest, as usual. Thanks. -- Boris -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

Be careful Boris. Mu43 is a slippery slope. IQ is fine although APS-C will give better high iso results. Still, you can do fine with iso 1600. Rick, did you try using the filmstrip gallery? If you click on any image, it expands onto a page of its own with a linear filmstrip of images along the bottom.
