pentax point and shoot and a pink polaroid
Hi Everyone: Had some camera spotting today. Check that old Pentax point and shoot the pink Polaroid. I guess color cameras isn’t such a novel idea after all. Also, Central Camera had a red Pentax Q—was it cute. First time I was able to play with one! Very fun! http://www.caguila.com/2cam/index.html Cheers, Christine -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

Re: PESO(s) I have but one Egret...
That's not CA that's sensor bloom. The lens itself exhibits almost no CA. Supposedly CMOS sensors have done away with blooming but I see it all the time in lens reviews, refereed to as CA, because well, CMOS sensors did away with bloom, but CA is almost always two color red/blue, bloom is purple or just plain white. Now I'm going into this because I'm really tired of seeing obvious sensor bloom in images and having it be miss identified as chromatic aberration, they are not the same thing. CA is caused by a lens defect, bloom can be exacerbated by having a high contrast lens with even a very good sensor. Neither of those things is a defect. The issue of removing the sensor bloom is another problem, I've never successfully been able to do that. If it's there I just live with it. It doesn't have a very dark background, so matrix worked fairly well. I'd guess that had you used spot metering on it's body, you would have gained the desired additional feather detail. Re: PESO(s) I have but one Egret...
Spot metering on the body would yield a bird that's 18 percent gray. Of course it's easy to bring out the white in conversion. But spot metering is not always practical with a moving target. I wouldn't go that way. Paul via phone On Oct 4, 2014, at 1:49 PM, Jack Davis jdavi...@comcast.net wrote: It doesn't have a very dark background, so matrix worked fairly well. Re: PESO(s) I have but one Egret...
I'm all about learning new stuff, so I appreciated P.J.'s correction (in the thread above). This led me to a little Google-Fu workout and I thought I might share something that might be of interest to the Photoshop users of the group. This little plug-in is free to try, but only works on images up to 800x600. To use it on larger images, one has to pay the 15 euro shareware fee: http://flofilters.free.fr/ I have not used either the trial version or the full version yet, but I thought I would pass the info along in case someone has experience with it or would like to give it a shot. Cheap enough, if it does what it says. It seems it has been recommended by a lot of people over the years, but not mentioned much in recent years - so maybe there is a better tools (or one that comes with post-processing software?) I'm all ears... On Sat, Oct 4, 2014 at 1:50 PM, Jack Davis jdavi...@comcast.net wrote: I know, the 18% gray is what I can use to restore detail as I chose. It looks like b2evolution has been vulnerable to SQL injections and so that would be my first guess. In some cases the vulnerability results in your site being used to spam which ends up getting your site blacklisted by your web host or Google or other sites. A company I used to work for found that out; after that we set up our own remote backup system which proved quite useful in the long run. October PUG - Synchronicity - is up!!
G'day all Twenty submissions this month - it seems the 'Synchronicity' theme was a popular one. Many and varied subjects, including a few by dedicated souls who took the theme to heart and pressed the shutter at the exact time of the equinox. Well done! We also have our first submission with the 645Z. As usual, you'll find the gallery here: http://pug.komkon.org/ (you may need to refresh your browser if you see the previous gallery there). Note: The automated submission process usually works well but it's not infallible. So, if you made a submission and you don't see it in the gallery, let me know. + Next up for November is 'Motion'. Wow! Stunning work, Mark. When I got to the 3rd frame—the infrared shot—I uttered, “oh, wow!” Wonderful to see these. Cotty - absolutely agree about Rick's wonderful shot and also favor John's (Herzog?? in North Carolina? - hmmm) Glad you liked mine, too And Toralf may think his shot is nothing special, but I could look at that all day. so much good stuff all around ann On 10/4/2014 18:33, Steve Cottrell wrote: On 5/10/14, Brian Walters, discombobulated, unleashed: As usual, you'll find the gallery here: http://pug.komkon.org/ Very strong gallery as always. Re: pentax point and shoot and a pink polaroid
In the Pink Polaroid picture below and to the left of Pinky is a box for a recently released FujiFilm X100 Current list price new is $1100 or more. If they know what they've got they wouldn't sell it for a lot less. On 10/4/2014 8:45 PM, Christine Aguila wrote: I’m not sure where you guys are seeing a $1000. October PUG - An Addendum
G'day all I just received van email from Joe McAllister with a late submission. I think we can excuse the delay and the lack of Pentax content - Joe spent the Equinox in the Emergency Room at St. Francis' Hospital, Washington and is still recovering. I've added Joe's pic to the gallery. I caught up with Joe over coffee in Seattle last year - hope the recovery proceeds well, Joe -- Cheers Brian ++ Brian Walters Western Sydney Australia http://lyons-ryan.org/southernlight/ -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

PESO - In The Mudroom
http://www.markcassino.com/b2evolution/index.php/in-the-mudroom This used to be a true mudroom - buildt onto the exterior of the house, no electricity except for the over head light, just bare tongue and groove wood paneling on the walls. We spiffed it up a bit a couple of years ago when we remodeled and it is not heated and integrated into the kitched as additional storage space. Taken with the IR converted K10d and Ricoh XR Rikenon 28mm f2.8 , though there is Little IR effect here even with direct sunlight streaming in. Comments always welcome! NIce set Christine - makes me want to visit Chicago. GESO: Antarctic Planes
The US Antarctic Programme had an open day today to show off their C-17 Globemaster which arrived down here a few days ago. Also present was an RNZAF Hercules and an A319 (I don't know who owns that one). The Globemaster took us about 10 minutes to get through as the flight deck was optional (with about an hour wait). The Herc took us about 45 mins - we had no option as everyone was going up front. By the time we got to the A319 I couldn't be bothered waiting and the crew were advising people they wouldn't get in before closing time anyway, so I just had a look around the outside. I only took a handful of photos and 5 made it through. http://gallery.multi.net.nz/gallery/58/#geso Cheers, Dave -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
