Re: Second thoughts about Pentax
The Fuji shot was at ISO 400 and both Pentax shots were at ISO 3200. The fact that one of them looks essentially as good as the Fuji is what's really amazing. Though based on that Fuji shot, I'd say that the 27 f2.8 deserves it's reputation. It is essentially Fugi's version of the SMC-P FA 43mm limited for their APS-C sensor cameras. Probably sharper wide open than the Pentax. On 12/18/2017 1:49 PM, Eric Weir wrote: A few images from the graduation ceremony I spoke about. Re: OT: Do you think this is a SCAM?
Legitimate sweepstakes don't require that the winner pay for registration and insurance. They have that budgeted in to the prize. Anyone who asks for money up front is looking for win but you won't be the winner. I only need to pay $950 for "registration & insurance" in order to collect my prize. Only problem is that when I told him I'd have to go to the bank to see if I have the $950 for "registration & insurance" in my account the call mysteriously "dropped". He called back once, but didn't get further than "I'm sorry, the call ..." before it "dropped" again. Do you think this might be a SCAM? That's a rhetorical question BTW. If he thinks I'm going to give him money or banking information, he's stupider than he obviously thinks I am. But it was entertaining for a few minutes. UPDATE: These guys got pretty frantic trying to get back in touch with me. I let them accumulate about a dozen "missed calls" before picking up again. I told them I was having problems with my cell phone and suggested they call me back on my "land line". Gave them the telephone number for the Charlotte, NC FBI office. They even called me back once again to verify they had copied the number for my land line correctly. Re: Peso-Lone Arrival
Seems like the WWW is becoming more and more useless. Corporations are by definition stupid. There are several who want my money enough to regularly send me emails. Emails I don't read because they insist on sending HTML. I will notify them three times that I don't accept HTML emails, and if they want my money they better start using plain text. If they can't figure it out after the third notification they can just go into the bit-bucket. How hard can it be to set up an email client to recognize a recipient who doesn't accept HTML email & switch to plain text? That's a rhetorical question. I don't run an AD blocker, but I do use NoScript & an extensive HOSTS file to block abusive content (if a site auto-runs video with SOUND it's abusive content). On 12/21/2017 11:15, P. J. I didn't think that far! With the exchange rate you should consider it sometime. The airfare should be about the same as to Maui. I could always lend you a tent & some camping equipment. Of course, there are some 5 star private game reserves bordering Kruger too. Larry's friend, Akia Woods (from Oregon) went on a month long Ultimate Safari trip last year.
