Re: Noisy K-3??
It looks pretty noisy, but, you get that kind of result when you highly manipulate an image. It does look like the noise you'd get at 6400 ISO or higher on a K-5II when recovering shadows. The K-3 is supposed to be a little worse due to the packing of more pixels into the same real estate, but really not that much. RE: Noisy K-3??
I blew the original up on screen by a factor of at least 12, and confess all I saw was the equivalent of very fine grain in the image - rather like Panatomic-X developed in Microdol! photos with AR
I am not sure if anybody on the list has played/is playing Pokemon Go, so I would mention its relation to the photography. One of the features of this game is so-called "Augmented Reality" (AR), where you can superimpose images of pokemon (that are around you, but you cannot see them unless you have the app on your phone) over the "real reality" surrounding you. And you can take a photo of such a hybrid view. Here is an BuzzFeed article where a "real photographer" provides some comments about some of the more successful AR photos. https://www.buzzfeed.com/nianticpokemongo/pokemon-go-users-are-creative-af I thought some PDMLers might be curious to see these.
