It appears to have gotten to the list. On 7/9/2019 5:50 AM, John Sessoms wrote: Still trying to sort out my email problems. Re: I HATE G*%$##! Stupid Email
Far be it that I recommend gmail, because they are evil, and Evil as well, but once set up properly they do work the way they're supposed to. If I were you I'd just set up a gmail account to use with the PDML and be done with it. There's noting you'll be likely to say here that the world won't find out about eventually anyway. I already can't send messages to PDML using Earthlink because they don't block their users from sending SPAM & PDML's SPAM filter keeps consigning Earthlink to a black hole. Yahoo is EFFED up and Time-Warner (Spectrum) road-runner email servers go down and stay down for months at a time. I can currently read messages on yahoo and send using road-runner, but if you don't ever hear from me again, you'll know why ... *IF* this message gets through. -- America wasn't founded so that we could all be better. It looks like a very sharp lens, but then it better be at the price and bulk. Re: Sharper lenses
If it weren't for tweaking systems, and breaking specified behavior at the same time, some members of development teams would have no purpose at all. BTW, I haven't tried putting the regular reply button back on Thunderbird since they broke it's behavior, is it still broken? Not important, the smart button works almost correctly, but I was kind of wondering... I haven't visited their site, but they claim to protect against scams. Your issue might still be a criminal scam of some sort, hidden behind a legal scam... Don't give them any personal information, in any case. You don't need their permission to send emails to PDML, unless Doug has taken a dislike to you. Might be worth emailing Doug separately in case he isn't breathlessly hanging on our every word, and can somehow do something about this. -- America wasn't founded so that we could all be better. Re: Still No Joy on the email front.
I've seen your messages, John. Perhaps you should try a different approach: Get your own domain name and email service from an independent provider. I use Hover.com for several domain name and email services, apart from my general use accounts with Apple (icloud.com, me.com, mac.com accounts). It's not expensive … about $15-20 per year for the domain and a small tithe for the email service. Then you don't have to be subject to the Earthlink or Yahoo, or other large corporate-driven, server configurations. Getting angry doesn't help on this stuff. Keep your cool and find a better solution… It's not that difficult. :) G — "It's a machine.
