Great shot! I like the misty background, and the way the road and canal
converge at the farm in the background.

We explored very similar territory a few years ago in the Netherlands, between
Utrecht and Gouda, whence came a branch of my wife’s family. Two-way traffic on
one-lane dikes made for interesting driving.

I tried some photos last night while it was coming down, but haven’t had a
good look at them yet.

This morning there were 6-8 inches of layered snow, sleet, and ice on the
ground. Got my morning outdoor exercise with the snow shovel. It’s a heavy
mixture.

Thanks Paul, Henk, Dan & Alan  and anyone who comes along later :-)

Henk -  I have much better storm shots than this.. well, at least a lot
I like much more myself.  That corner store is in the last of a number
of reimaginings
in the 52 years I've lived here..  This is the worst. the hidious sign
and lights are on all night..and it's style is definitely not in keeping
with the lovely old
brownstones on our street that are landmarked.  It used to be a store
that sold fresh veggies, bread and packaged food, ice cream etc.. more
of a bodega

than a vape shop.

Alan, a gold mine?

The gravel road to Sable Dam in Kruger was re-opened today after the
heavy rains on Tuesday night. I went to have a look after lunch. Still
very grey, wet conditions. With pools of water all over the place, the
game has dispersed - tough for the predators! Scenes of the dam (now 100
full) from the road at the N end and the SE corner from the bird hide. A
lone Cape Dikkop surveying the scene & Impala ewes with month old lambs.
