I'm still not sure if this was a real carcass of a bus. There were a few
other objects which looked just as realistic but were quite obviously
made of cardboard.

This is a really interesting gallery!

Henk, that dragonfly shot is great. The body and right wing are sharp, but the
left wing is not, and shades nicely into the beautifully soft greenery in the
background. I would have expected more DOF at f/7.1, unless you were very
close. How did you do this?

Filip, the lighting and composition are very relaxing. I was hoping that there
was a link to the sound of the bowls, but alas I could only find one leading to
narration in Dutch.

Ralf, yours is enjoyably whimsical.

Bruce, iI’m not sure what to think about yours. Was this vandalism or the scene
of a fire? (could be both, actually…)

Eric, how did you light this? The ighting and DOF are perfect. I hope you have
this hanging on a wall!

Great action shot, Dan. The cyclists’ banking gives a great impression of
speed, and the scene is very colorful.

Beautiful sunset, Alan. I’m impressed by how well you held the colors in the
sky, and even a bit in the sun.

Cheers,

Rick

Thanks Chaps & Brian. A sort of World tour. I found that Gallery

Another great gallery although for an open gallery I would have expected
a few more contributions.

Then again, I also had a hell of a time finding something that (a) I
wanted to show and that (b) had been taken with Pentax equipment.

I won't even try to come up with favourites. They're all great, each one
in their own way.

Rick obviously paid attention to the theme of this month’s gallery!
As usual, all nice shots and a pleasure to view.

Scugog museum update

2022-06-08 Thread David J Brooks
Back in September a small group of us attended the Scugog museum for about
the 5th time, LOL, and upon leaving asked if they would like us to send
them a few photos for their use. They said sure. After a few conversions
with the assistant curator our few photos became a display all its own in
the main building in one of their big display cases. It took all winter to
get the photos voted on and sizes and text etc but June 7th we met at the
museum and did a rough layout of the 20 photos and displayed text for the
curator. They will take the photos and mount them on foam board and place
where we had them laid out just with mactac for the time being.

This was my contribution to the club as a group project for the community,
and i think it worked out quite well

Two photos one of the team and one starting to work out the placements

https://www.thepassingshow.com/p658714644/h34add1f1#h34add1f1
https://www.thepassingshow.com/p658714644/h34add1f1#h30f37837

The empty shelf on the top had photos placed and the removed so they can
foam board them

Not much research but I've been using EIZO monitors for many years and
have just bought a CS2740, earlier this year, that I'm quite happy with.

I particularly appreciate their 5 year warranty. Only had to use it once
but it took just one phone call and the next day someone stood at the
door with a replacement.
