Pentax Spares Galore
I won 5 lots of Pentax parts, because I needed a few items from each lot. Should you PDMLrs need anything to repair your Pentaxs, you might browse these and let me know. There are hard to find parts for SPs, ESIIs, K1000s and more. Anything you see will be reasonably priced, I assure you. At this point, if you have a picture of a part you need, it will make things easier, as there lots are not categorized by part number. item # 1363045092, #1363262237, #1363262247, #1363262242 & #1363262251 Geoff Goedde 916 Pikes Peak Lane Louisville, CO 80027-3109 303-665-8699 - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. RE: Tripod Alternative
I forgot...when you use the modified vice-grip, you should sleeve the jaws with about 3" of surgical tubing on each jaw. This allows use on car windows, and other fragile mounting opportunities. That's an item which is available here, too. It's quite large and cumbersome compared to the c-clamp, and, of course, quite a bit more expensive. Did you notice the "pocket clamp" description above the Ergorest? "... to fix your camera to posts, trees, car windows ..." I bet that's similar to the c-clamp. Too bad there's no picture. RE: Tripod Alternative
Another clever set up is a pair of vise-grip pliers, whereby the vice-grip has a (I think 8/32- 2"") screw welded to it near the gripping end. Easy to mount a ball head or camera. Somebody on Ebay sells a standard, replacement adjustment screw for the vice grips, with the proper size of threaded rod (for mounting) on the opposing end, for about $4. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Shel Belinkoff Sent: Friday, April 05, 2002 5:24 AM To: Pentax List Subject: Tripod Alternative 20+ years ago I found this neat little accessory that can often take the place of a tripod, and can do some things that a tripod could never do, such as hang your camera from a car window, a chair, a door, etc. It's essentially a small c-clamp with an adjustable head attached to it. I thought I'd share it with the list, and maybe try to find another one. Has anyone else ever seen/used one of these? Admittedly it has its limitations, but for such a small item it's certainly handy. RE: Scanning
I haven't tried scanning film, but when I did scanning of old stamps, I found that a very thin sheet of high quality glass works wonders in flattening the subject matter - regards -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Bruce Dayton Sent: Wednesday, April 03, 2002 8:18 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Scanning Although I have been scanning for quite a long time, I now have a big question. Last night I hooked up a new Epson Perfection 2450, so that I could scan my 67 film. Everything went together flawlessly and all the software worked (ViewScan & PaintShop Pro). My big problem is with film flatness and focus. My scans are incredibly soft. I looked at the holder and found that film can have a mind of its own (not laying flat). I even tried just laying the film directly on the bed, but since nothing presses against it, the film was not much flatter. Those of you who scan 120 film - how do you do it? Do you have issues with film flatness? Is there something else I have failed to do? Thanks for any of your ideas, Bruce Dayton - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. RE: OT: my disappearing buyers (a mystery)
Back in the mid-70s, when I shot weddings, I had a divorce at the alter. The groom walked out of the church, just before the ceremony was to begin. It's hard to make those sweaty grooms look good anyway. My other weird experience was a wedding where there were over 40 people in the wedding party. I was using a C330 at the time, and didn't have a lens wide enough to get the whole group in the frame, and still be able to recognize everyone. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Paris, Leonard Sent: Wednesday, April 03, 2002 6:08 AM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: RE: OT: my disappearing buyers (a mystery) That's why wedding photographers get as much up front as they can, and then (usually) get the balance for the agreed on package two weeks before the wedding, all non-refundable. But, as for fun, weddings are usually not any fun for the photographer. He/she doesn't really get to participate in any of the fun, and it's a 10 or 12-hour day, if you shoot the reception. It's harder to keep smiling as folks get drunker.
