Any experience with Rikenon P 28mm 1:2.8 ?

2002-06-29 Thread Jeffrey Sciortino

I just became the proud owner of a Rikenon P 28mm 1:2.8 . I assume it
will outperform my current Vivitar 28mm 1:2.8 .

Anyone had any experience with this lens?

Can I expect the same kind of great results I get from my 50mm 1:1.7 ?

Did I get a good buy at $40.00?

Thanks for the info.

Linear Polarizers and PZ-1P Autofocus

2002-06-29 Thread Jeffrey Sciortino

I recently bought a used Polarizer at a local camera shop. N***n brand.

The filter itself just says Polar 52mm N***n Japan. It came with a N***n
Filter case marked CP-4

I bought it thinking it could come in Handy with my Ricoh KR-30SP.

I was shocked the the autofocus on my PZ-1p seems to work fine with the
filter on in whichever orientation I put it.

Did I score a Circular polarizer for $5.00?

Re: Just in time for Father's Day

2002-06-13 Thread Jeffrey Sciortino

I just got back into darkroom work after about 15
years.

I just read through the Darkroom sections of Upton and
Upton's Photography. This along with a Kodak
darkroom guide, and I've had no trouble.

I forgot how much fun it was. I was thinking I was
bound for the digitial Darkroom (almost gave away my
D2 XL Chassis) when a neighbor offered to let me use
his darkroom. I find it s much more rewarding than
the little bit a digital mucking about I did. As
always, YMMV :-)

Good luck.

suggest reading material for darkroom procedures.
 It's been nearly 40 years

Also, any suggestions on a fairly compact enlarger
 capable of handling 35mm
through 6X6 negatives would be appreciated.

I was born in Needham, and am now in Northern
California. I was first bitten by the Pentax
bug at Scorby's in 1969. I don't know the status of
Scorby's, but the Greens are both gone
now, nice people that took good care of their
 customers.
