Thanks, Jack. I took several shots, of course, and some were more of the sunlight cacti isolated. I like the one with more things around it to show the detail around it. To show the details were in focus. Your suggestion is interesting, because while I liked the bloom it does make it look like it might be out of focus. Hmmm. You know you might be slightly weirder than I am. Heh. None of the Iron Horse Trail bridges seem to have individual names. I haven't seen any of the others, but know there is at least one more. This is the most interesting one and the plaque for it said it was supposed to represent "transportation." Ergo, looking like an airplane or something is apt. Or something very similar, that it was dedicated to "Mr. Transportation," a city or county council member who had envisioned the trail and this particular bridge. Re: OT: AARP
Not much. I did use their health coverage in the past to get medications cheap. About 15 years ago. I am now on Kaiser Senior Advantage Plus that is better. They have and have not been good champions for seniors, depending on your political position. Sometimes they've done good things and sometimes they have seemed to sell out. Their travel discount is about the same or exactly the same as AAA's (American Automobile Association). I did find sometimes when I was traveling around, that motels would reach their AAA quota, but still have an AARP quota position or two left. In other words, motels do have quotas for how many AAA discounts they will give out each night. So when I traveled, in the USA, I did use the AARP discount at motels more than you might think even though I also had a AAA card. I stopped subscribing to AARP about 10 years ago because I disagreed with some political position they seemed to be taking at the time. If I traveled a lot again, however, I might get a card again. Just to have two discounts available again. GESO - Freeways and Bridges
Back into the fray. Continuing to update my web pages. Not too long ago I showed a freeway image. I took these shots in 2012 from a meeting point of freeways and bridges in Pinole, California. Re: OT: Help with Video Problems for Non-Profit
Then it must have been a MP4 that I edited about 5 years ago. Trouble is, I have a sneaking suspicion I downloaded editing software that was good for a month trail run (before it expired) to edit frame by frame a videotape of Bill McKibben (who once spoke at our church). Because I definitely remember doing that when I cut off the introduction and and the Q&A at the end. I remember not only editing the picture part frame by frame, but the audio part too with a pretty decent basic editor. Not that I did any fancy editing, just cutting things off having them sync well enough. Maybe I can find it again. I haven't really opened Windows Movie Maker for years, I know I used it for the titles, but maybe not much more than that. We shall see. Marnie aka DoeHey, stills are my thing, not videos. Heh. Mp4 is a video compression container (for video and audio export). Variations are also also used by many camera manufacturers as a way of compressing video ready to be 'uncompressed' into it's full glory for editing. Hey, thanks Cotty! If you see my later post you will see that it was actually two videos (which really explains the change in orientation 1/2 through). And that she re-imported and the orientation is fine. As a former computer programmer/consultant, my take on things is usually, if all else fails, REBOOT! Same idea, redo, re-import. (Actually, by posting to PDML I was hoping for a response from you in particular. ;-)) I may still take you up on it, if she has problems stitching the two together. And if I have problems doing it, if she refers it to me. She was filling in for someone who normally does it. But I will definitely tell her to lock the orientation first next time, if there is a next time. And you cleared up for me some things re MP4. Nevermind. I had suggested to her that re-importing might fix the orientation problem. So she did it on her Mac at home and the orientation is now correct. I think she felt guilty because the phone stopped recording at the event for a few minutes before she noticed it and restarted it. So I think she felt she might have caused the problem. So it seems there are two files. I am capable of stitching them together if she can't figure it out. I am a PC person, but I had suggested to her that a MAC imort might work better, just based on things I've read on this list. :-) Thanks, Later, Marnie aka Doe -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

OT: Help with Video Problems for Non-Profit
Okay, I am basically video clueless. I have Video Premier Elements 11 on my computer. I am not sure it will do mp4, I know it will do mp3. I have a Lenovo PC. Last Tuesday we had a speaker for my church's environmental group. This was co-sponsored by various other local groups. A woman from the local Peace Center used her cell to video tape the talk. One of our group's members' husband helped her import the video to computer. I do not KNOW how he did it, what software he used. It seems half way through the video the orientation changes from landscape to portrait. I saw her tape it, the cell was on a stand. I do not know if she accidentally changed the orientation while taping. It's possible, you know how sensitive cell phone are to that. It is possible during importing the orientation was changed. I am not the only one clueless here. She says her computer is a HP laptop and the phone is Sansung S4 and the file is a MP4. Questions: 1. Is there a way to change the orientation 1/2 through on the existing MP4? Maybe using Elements Video Premier 11? Or something else? 2. Would it be better to re-import it? 3. If so, is there a way to change the orientation 1/2 way through, if the orientation was wrong on the phone to begin with? Assume no more money will be spent on this. It needs to be the software we have or free software. I think the fact the orientation changes 1/2 through is the major problem. Any help you can offer would be appreciated. Re: PESO - Pegasus
I imagine they want a horse to step through. Not jump. Front legs in front of circle, back legs in back of the circle. Stand still, so it looks like it has wings. I don't know if a horse can do that, but presumably the people doing it know what they are doing (or not -- maybe it doesn't work). I think it would definitely be for photographs. It's big enough around for a horse. You get idea of its size by the fence behind it, even though it is further back. It was large.
