Veso: T-bone and the Kalispell Fair - 1988
All the photos were taken with my trusty Pentax LX - Kodachrome's scanned on Epson flatbed v500 I made the vid in Windows Movie maker .. dropped in the music from an MP3 . Original guitar music by my friend Bob Zaidman - music recorded on tape back in the 70's - in a studio setting. Long story - I'll skip but it ws an impromtu performance by Bob on guitar and Dom Duval (sr.) on bass . Duval Sr. died in 2016. He had gone from the blues stuff to free style jazz and there are a lot of recordings around of him playing jazz. Bob had been sending me MP3's since we have been back in touch.. i really liked this piece they called "What you will" and thought the shots I took back in 1988 and the music paired nicely. The calf really was named "T-bone" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PI_LzE-HsJo&t=18s ann -- ann sanfedele photography https://annsan.smugmug.com https://www.cafepress.com/+ann-sanfedele+gifts https://www.lulu.com/spotlight/annsan https://www.createphotocalendars.com/Shop/annsanfedelecalendarsandbooks -- %(real_name)s Pentax-Discuss Mail List To unsubscribe send an email to pdml-le...@pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

PESO - selfie in the 'hood
Between FB and INSTAGRAM and PDML FB and using messenger online occasionally where I see most of you, I've been mostly lurking here. confessing that any discussion of new tech of any photo related stuff is of little interest I hardly ever post here these days. since I can see your photos (which does interest me) elsewhere. I'm not doing much new stuff except editing archives and listing stuff I'm selling on ebay or on the create photo calendars site) So for the few who haven't seen me for a while and only look/lurk here - this is a new one taken a couple of days before my 87th birthday in Dec. a few blocks from my apt. The thing that looks like a photo equip bag is an insulated lunch bag for shopping . I don't do any photo walks - just slip the tiniest camera I have into my pocket when I go out and don't anticipate carrying too much other stuff on my way home. anyway, I kinda like this one. https://annsan.smugmug.com/On-the-Road-or-On-Foot/2022-miscellaneous-snaps/i-MWvHQTs/A ann -- ann sanfedele photography https://annsan.smugmug.com https://www.cafepress.com/+ann-sanfedele+gifts https://www.lulu.com/spotlight/annsan https://www.createphotocalendars.com/Shop/annsanfedelecalendarsandbooks -- %(real_name)s Pentax-Discuss Mail List To unsubscribe send an email to pdml-le...@pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

Re: Elliott Erwitt
Damn! .. I never met him in person but he wrote a blurb for my book Sign Language in 1992 .. that never got used because he was out of the country when he got the photos .. he sent the quote in to my editor (one of his, of course) saying "if it's not too late, here's a quote for you" I scanned the postcard and used it on the back of the "sequel" to Sign Language "Signs Gone By" that I self published a couple of years ago. But there were other connections too,and another missed op to meet him in person at the Leica gallery here. Had connections to him through other friends of mine.. one a cinematographer he worked with whose wife was a close friend of mine and Erwitt gave them a very large print of his wife and baby that is in the Family of Man... Another friend's son accepted Erwitt's photos for dental work and a little place called Reubens that sold empanadas near where I worked in Soho back in the 90's was lined with his photos - Owner was a friend of EE. Oddly, the day he died (yesterday) I had just commented on instagram on a street photographer's photo of a man holding his dog and they looked like each other .. the street photographer was someone I met recently who by coincidence had just been look at my book in a little park in Brooklyn and had told Fernando a photo of his reminded me of one of Erwitt's. Re: Peso: seeing double
Pau, thanks so much! Glad you like the photo of my friend Annie. It was taken in 1997 in Rhode Island where she had a summer cottage. shot with color negative film , not chrome. Can't remember whether Fuji or Kodacolor.. no idea where the negs are.. scanned from 4 x 6 print. Had a better one but Annie has that print.. We have been friends since 1973.. I"m not the only photographer who photographed her walking away from them on a beach in Rhode Island (or maybe Connecticut - anyway and east coast beach) The other was (drum roll) Margaret Bourke-White - many many years earlier. Annie used to read to Bourke-White when she was losing her eyesight late in life. I can say I had my hands on that print about 20 years ago. In that photo Annie was in a bathing suit and walking with her young niece. a much tighter shot. Don't know if that photo was ever published or just given to Annie. Re: RIP Dan Matyola
This is hard to write... I knew a bit more about how serious his illness was and the nature of it before he mentioned on the list that he was going to have surgery. We had been sharing our WORDLE answers in emails and in early March he wrote that he ws going in for surgery and why - he asked me not to share that information... (and I won't now either) but it was serious stuff . He was staying optimistic about recovery .. heard from him while he was in hospital.. keeping to light exchanges. Then about 10 days passed without and email but I spotted a "like" from him on one of my photos on Fb so wrote and asked if he were out of hospital... He replied "Just returned home 45 mins ago. Sore all over, but otherwise OK. I will check in when I can." I replied there was no need for him to report just to take care of himself.. and I saw he was making posts to the list.. On 4/27 he wrote: "How are you doing doing? I am ever impressed at how you manage to get along so well in that walk-up apartment. Take care of yourself." He's asking ME how I am.. ! (Dan was one of a number PDML'rs who have climbed 3 flights of stairs to visit me - He was last here in 2019 when Jan Van Wyk came to NY and we had a mini PDML visit and lunch.. ) "While I don't have much pain, I am constantly stiff and sore... " Right now, I am trying to get by one day at a time. Things will improve, but very slowly. I need patience and faith." I was surprised to see Bruce's post.. thought sure he would be back on his feet and walking Blizzard before too long.. so sad. ann On 5/10/2023 7:27 PM, Bruce Walker wrote: Facebook alerted me today of messages about the passing of Dan Matyola, May 2, 2023, at 81 years of age. ... -- %(real_name)s Pentax-Discuss Mail List To unsubscribe send an email to pdml-le...@pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

Re: Broad Street Photo-Walk
I looked at the entire gallery , of course.. and really enjoyed these - captured the feel of the city as I remember doing a partial walk on broad street myself - wonderful variety of character .. even the buildings i don't care for as structures are good for the overall scene.. ann On 5/3/2023 5:27 PM, Rick Womer wrote: A couple of weeks ago two photo-friends and I took a walk down Broad Street, Philadelphia’s largest north-south street. Ralf - yeah, Henk's is a nice giggle. The variety of trees made it for me as a group.. Re: PESO: One More Tree #4
it's interesting... I had a hard time finding photos with just one tree in my digital files.. both on my website and on my computer - I have one more where one tree stands out but there is another next to it so I discounted it .. besides, it had been on PUG before and seen elsewhere taken at the grand canyon in 1974 - but not with a PENTAX .. with a RICOH ! nice shot, Dan On 5/1/2023 5:14 PM, Daniel J.
