I assume we are talking about the sensor slated for use in the D645. So once 
they have production models I guess they can start tuning the circuitry and 
software to match the actual sensor noise/gain, colour performance etc.

Yes, it's pre-official release, the images however were neglectfully made 
available to the public though bad web page management I'd guess.

You're right. However comparisons will be inevitable ;-) And Nikon  
seems to be higher class camera in other than sensor areas (it has  
CAM 2000 - the best AF around, weather sealings and so on...)


It's pretty much what I expect Pentax to produce.

D200 photos, because it has rectangular not round viewfinder eyepiece like
on Nikon's top cameras. Of course it has nothing to do with viewfinder
size...

We'll have it next spring. How long have Nikon users have had to wait
for the D100 replacement? The D100 was announced more than 2-1/2 years
ago (Feb 2002). I'm not sure when it actually became available.
