A scroll of mail from Shel Belinkoff [EMAIL PROTECTED] on Thu, 26 Apr 2001 21:40:49 -0700 Read it? y Tonight I'm having a wee dram of cask strength Dallas Dhu 24, distilled in 1970. What are you sipping this evening? Well, I'm still looking for a decent s/h LX, but will raise a toast to it's demise anyway. It's one minute to 6pm here is Hong Kong, and I don't think it's right to drink before evening time. *waiting* *waiting* OK! It's 6pm precisely, and I'm sipping on a very nice local ale: Dragon's Back India Pale Ale from the South China brewery. Very smooth and, at 5.2%, reasonably strong. A Wee Dram for the LX
Several years ago I was lucky enough to be able to tour the old Dallas Dhu distillery. They were no longer producing for commercial purposes, but it was educational and fun anyway, especially inasmuch as couple of drams of sample were handed out at tour's close. Made the rest of the afternoon a touch more enjoyable. Doug Tonight I'm having a wee dram of cask strength Dallas Dhu 24, distilled in 1970. Re: A Wee Dram for the LX
Have one for me. I can't drink. I have been working since 8am yesterday, and it is now 3am today. Well, I did have a 1-hour lunch break and a 1-hour dinner break, but that's all. The way it's going, I'll still be here at 8am when thankfully someone else takes over. At the moment, I am waiting for an ambulance which they may or may not need me for. I am sure I will be dog-tired later. Jody. Tonight I'm having a wee dram of cask strength Dallas Dhu 24, distilled in 1970. What are you sipping this evening? -- Shel Belinkoff I have been sipping a most wonderful Cabernet Sauvignon that I bottles 4 years ago, but to honour the occassion, I just poured myself a wee dram of 10 year old Glenkinchie single malt. Ahh...a nice 64oz sip of Gatorade...hey, i can't be breaking the law now can i, only one more year til i'm legal, and even then i'd struggle to afford natural light. Besides, i don't have much to mourn about the loss of the LX. The closest i've ever gotten to one is looking at the specs on Boz's site (and I can look at that anytime...i do sometimes...and dream). Heck...i had to sell my K-1000 to afford my appetite for film and processing. But...maybe i'll mute ESPN's Sports Center for a good moment of silence in honor of a truly great performer (or so i have heard[read] ). brent - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. Heh. That would be fitting, wouldn't it? I believe in those days I was still shooting with a Minolta X-370. There's a photo around home somewhere of me standing next to a sign that said, Brewer's Office. even then I couldn't resist a cheap joke.
