You’re very welcome also, Darren. Yeah, it was more of a biography with the
photos kind of taken for granted.

I could do without their Ken Burns effect of panning around his
photos. I'd prefer to see them full frame, the way they were printed

RE: Albano (was Re: Coming home)

Albano posted that to the PDML once - I remember the picture very
well.

Mike J refers to pictures by HCB, Kertesz and Picasso, but only shows
the pictures by Kertesz and Picasso. I think the HCB he's thinking of
is this nude, who has a similar pose to Albano's swimmer:

BTW I was the one who originally bought him a K1000. :-)
He was a non-Pentax screw-mount user from way back, and I originally got into
Pentax to have access to his lenses. Rather more recently he decided to buy
something "more modern" so I recommended the K1000 (his first Pentax) and gave
him my screw-mount to bayonet adapter. I guess he and I have been begging,
borrowing and stealing gear from each other for thirty-odd years now. :-)
Thanks for your message.

Mostly, but not all, OT -- Coming home

2004-06-12 Thread ernreed2
Got back from my trip to Jamaica this afternoon. Not missing the mosquitoes at
all.
In the process of going through about 500+ PDML messages (was too busy last
night to check them) and at some point I'll have to do a more thorough edit
(for myself, anyway) of EIGHT HUNDRED pictures. I did wonder whether I was wise
to take the Optio 550 as my only camera -- 800 pictures? probably just as well
I didn't take any others!!
Somewhere between the 500+ messages and the 800 pictures I also intend to look
over all those posted pics of the Weekend I Missed. I've glanced at a few
already and I am so grateful that y'all shared them.

ERN

PS for those who wondered about my father, he's mending rapidly and he even
felt well enough to go out and take some pictures with us yesterday. And that's
my second ON-topic comment, since he uses a K1000. :-)
