I am the same way. I don't wear eyeglasses, but I just can't work
comfortably with it all the time. Mine is in a pouch and will only
get used in some situations. I don't find it a replacement for the
regular cup.

Thanks (and to the other respondents as well).

Seems a bit of a toss up to me. I don't watch the in-viewfinder
displays all that much when shooting, but occasionally want to see
them. More important is whether I can see what I'm doing regards
focusing and framing without having to move my eye and face around
too much. Maybe if I get contacts it will be a boon, but with glasses
it is probably more restrictive than I'd care for.

that.

It's not good, frankly. I've got my glasses on this
morning and it's tough to use with glasses. For me
it's nothing since I wear contacts when shooting but
with my glasses on you really have to work to see
everything.

Yes, forgot to reply about that.
In fact I was quite interested in what you were thinking about this
camera because I bought it second hand as a present for my father
(used to his full auto PZ10..). When I got it I sweared I would never
offer a camera like that: plastic everywhere :(

In the end I offered a KM to my father :)

But I used the KR10-X some months later at a concert: it was not
obvious at all I could take photographs and thought I'd come with
hardware I wouldn't cry if it had to the dustbin.
I shoy with the KR10-X, a badly worn-out chinon 50/1.4 (rated quite
bad 20 years ago) and Tri-X.

Result is: I dunno if I'll take photogrpahs as good as those (taking
into account it was the first time ever, I was taking photographs at a
concert).

It seems this little plastic thing does VERY well with Tri-X :) :)

That's my little story about my KR10-X.

I see no particuliar reason to protect the LCD of the K10D.

Yes, the eye-relief definitely does suffer. You can improve things a bit
by folding the soft rubber cup back behind the hard plastic; so that your
eye can move closer.

But still I can't get comfortable with it, and I have decided to remove it
and only use it on more critical focusing.

Came today...much better. Not only is it easier to
focus with manual lenses but it moves your eye away
from the back of the camera so you're not smudging the
LCD as much. It's also much more comfortable than the
stock eyecup because it has more padding.

I wear glasses and have the O-ME53 eyepiece. I like it a lot.

When looking straight into the viewfinder, I see about 98% of the
image. The very tips of the corners are vignetted, but It's not
something that's a concern for me. I need to move my eye a bit to see
the data at the bottom of the screen, however. When looking at the
image, i see the top half of the data. When my eye is in a position
to view the data, I lose the top eighth of the viewfinder. I don't
have a problem with that, however, as when I am looking at the data, I
am not usually composing. When I am composing, I'm not usually
changing the inputs.

There is no loss of brightness as far as I can tell. The image is
nice and large! On comparison with my MZ-6 film SLR, the K10D
viewfinder is now larger, though not quite as bright (by just a bit,
though). For reference, the MZ-6 viewfinder is 0.7 x [92%]. My MZ-5
viewfinder is larger than the K10D with O-ME53 (listed as 0.8 x[92%]).

Hope this helps.
