So in that respect I got lucky, because I was able to shoot for most of the show. I don't know that there are any real winners here, but I think Nick Cave cuts such an imposing figure that even the dull photos are somewhat striking. http://charles.robinsontwins.org/photos/2010/grinderman/ All taken with the K7 and Tamron 90mm f/2.5 -Charles Bit late to this one. Very striking set. 1st Ave looks like a fantastically intimate venue for Grinderman. Nick performs at quite large ones when he's here, which is a bit of a shame. They are a confronting band that deserves to be seen up close. It's a fantastic venue to see the not quite huge shows that come through town. If you're a Prince fan, you might remember this as the location at which the concert scenes from Purple Rain were filmed. They made it look HUGE in the movie, though. It's not huge. -Charles -- Charles Robinson - charl...@visi.com Minneapolis, MN http://charles.robinsontwins.org http://www.facebook.com/charles.robinson -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

House lighting, but the shiny silver back-curtain was supplied by the band... I've never seen anything like it there before. This is flippin' First Avenue Nightclub, man... the site of Prince's Purple Rain! BTW, how come the EXIF reports f / 2...@85 mm for all these? All of these were taken with the Tamron Adaptall-2 90mm f/2.5 lens. Nearest focal length to select for SR on the K7 is 85mm (why no 90?
