Thanks everybosy for the advise. I finally managed to source them in the
Netherlands, at a business to business dealer in electrotechnical tools.
Dealers in remote control helicopter parts are a good source as well, but
sadly only for the US and Canada.

Coming soon: did I de-prime my F70/4, or wrech my F70-210/4-5.6? Stay
tuned :o)

Grip for JIS crosspoint screwdriver?

2006-08-25 Thread Lucas Rijnders
Hi list,

Someone managed to drop a camera with my F70-210/4-5.6 attached. Camera
and lens appear to be fine, except that the zoom is stuck at 70mm.
Although the optimist in me says that I did not lose a zoom but gained a
prime, I'd still like to try my hand at repairing it.

The mount screws are firmly in place, so I guess I need a JIS screwdriver.
Www.micro-tools.com has these as what appears to be a blade only. See
http://www.micro-tools.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?LTPLanguage=ENScreen=PRODProduct_Code=49-8071Category_Code=SCPStore_Code=MTE

and
http://www.micro-tools.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?LTPLanguage=ENScreen=PRODProduct_Code=49-8072Category_Code=SCPStore_Code=MTE.

Does anyone know which one (#0 or #00) I need? Do I need a seperate grip
for them? Would anyone know what grip fits? I mailed Microtools two days
ago with the last two questions, but they do not seem to respond...

Thanks in advance for any pointers,

I don't know which tip you need but have a look at the Moody Tools website:

www.moodytools.com

Doing a search of their site it seems the Acu-Min range of handles are suitable.

Turning a zoom into a prime, that's improvement, primes are better.

Hmmm, I could turn this into a business... Anyone want to buy the rare,
extremely hard to find smc Pentax-F 1:4 70mm lens? In good, but used
contition. Yours for a mere $500,-, including worldwide shipping. Paypal
preferred.

Ah, it thats yours? It's one of my bookmarks :o) It helped tremendouly
when I recently disassembled a FA28-70/4, so thanks for maintaining it!
Now that we're at it: is there any way to remove the focussing ring on an
F lens? There seem to be slots for a screwdriver, but I'm hesitant to use
force... The FA had a different construction here.

Thanks. Micro-tools and micro-tools europe seem to have a different

located), but not to the Netherlands. Strange...

Don't know. All of the focus/zoom parts came out through the front.

Can you search for JIS Type S?

If the screws are really stubborn heat them with a large soldering iron.

A comment for emergencies, The difference between a phillips and a JIS
is that JIS has the point ground off. So in a bind you can grind off the
point of a cheap phillips driver and use it.
