Make sure whatever email program you're using is set to send "plain text only", and you have to be sending from the email address you used to subscribe. It doesn't look like any particular track that I know of, which is why the first time that I saw it, I spent forever trying to figure out what track it might be, because I didn't recognize it. I race the most at Thunderhill, Laguna Seca, and Sears Point. But I've also raced at Buttonwillow, Pacific Raceways, Miller Motorsports, Daytona, and Homestead. Hello Dear PDML members, I have recently (re-)joined the list and I have been busy following the lively discussions lately. Our friend Doug has just kindly reminded me of the fact that I was yet to introduce myself (no emoticons here). I am a middle aged male from Ankara, Turkey. I like to photograph and I like to read on photography as well. These two activities dominate my non-business hours. I like to shoot film as well as digital and I like to play with my equipment which includes a pinhole camera. More info is available at the links below. RE: Introduction, DA*55 and my Processing
Very nice to be welcomed by all of you; I see Godfrey posts here and I'm happy to say he provided some early inspiration to me as I learned to love Pentax prime glass (like many others I've owned lots and lots of primes and have consolidated my kit to the most utilitarian form i can). RE: Old men that drink heavily ;-) - I'm a young man that doesn't drink at all, but I'm 'weird' enough without fueling the fire with liquor. On the processing, angles, geometry, details, etc. - I'm the kind who approaches photography from a fine art perspective first I guess ... love to 'perfect' shots, do lots of deleting, and bring the best possible file I can into processing (which I do in Lightroom 3 and CS). I like to produce a vintage look on many of my shots and will play with color extensively to do so (including luminance and hue); I'm not afraid to work a photograph over, but I like to avoid full-blown HDR. Also, thank you for the list of acronyms, it has helped already. -- Andrew Allen Freelance Photographer and Writer www.andrewallenphoto.com -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
Re: Introduction: New to PDML
I think the site is clear and easy to use. Of course, if you are going for that I'm too important to do this so my assistant made this site look you may have to complicate it a bit ;-) On Sun, Dec 19, 2010 at 4:32 PM, Jack Davis jdavi...@yahoo.com wrote: Got it! I've heard great things about PDML for awhile and figured I'd join up. I shoot a Pz-1p SLR and a Pentax K-5 - all genuine Pentax AF primes at this point. DA15, FA*24, FA31, FA43, and DA*55 at the moment (clearly I'm more about street and portrait than birding or sports). I'm impressed with what I see so far as a bit older and more relaxed crowd here as opposed to some of the frantic-paced forums. I've got a (somewhat patchy) professional site up at: http://andrewallenphoto.com/ - All Pentax shots and primarily street/detail work. Just wanted to say hi, look forward to contributing where I can. -Andy -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions. -- Steve Desjardins -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

Welcome, Andy! I enjoyed looking through your work! I've had the same experience you've had regarding the overall pace of the forums as opposed to what goes on here. As I see it, I can go anywhere and be called an idiot, so I figure I might as well confine it to a more tight-knit circle. Though, I would like to propose a rule for the group which states that incoming members cannot be allowed to own a K-5 until all existing members who want one have gotten theirs. It seems only fair -- particularly to me. -- Walt On 12/19/2010 1:45 PM, Andrew Allen wrote: Hello everyone, my name is Andy. I've heard great things about PDML for awhile and figured I'd join up. We can have a cranky, bohemian K7 fringe. On Sun, Dec 19, 2010 at 5:59 PM, Walter Gilbert ldott...@gmail.com wrote: Welcome, Andy! I enjoyed looking through your work!
