If you like to shoot wide rather than long, the FA20-35/4 AL is fantastic. If you prefer a longer view, either of the FA28-105/3.2-4.5 AL IF or FA24-90/3.5-4.5 AL would be my choice. The DA16-45/4 is too heavy and large for my taste, performs well however. The DA50-200/4-5.6 seems a bit more than I usually need at the long end, but if you like that range should be an excellent choice. Godfrey

I'll cast a vote at you for the DA 16-45.So far has been producing good results,even after dropping both istD and lens on the ground when it fell out of my hip bag.(note to self.Bag is not closed until you hear the click.LOL) I am very close to getting the DA 50-200 for myself even if its not that good for my sisiters use. The DA 16-45 and DA 50-200 make a nice companion set of zooms. I originally bought them just for frivolous shooting but found them so good that I now use them for serious work as well. At least on those occasions when I don't want to carry a full set of primes. I think the upcoming DA 12-24 will be a great addition to this set. There may be others, but I pay attention when people talk of those lenses since the focal range interests me more than long zooms and teles. You haven't missed a post at all. And to be fair, I haven't spent much time with the raw processing to make the most of this feature. I've been shooting tif's almost exclusively as I think they are much better than the highest resolution jpg's. I keep intending to work with the raw files some more but haven't as yet. But the ability to shoot raw or tif file formats as well as jpg's was one feature that drew me to the D. If you have a Costco card, you'll find that they sell SanDisk Ultra II 1 gig cards for about $80. That's the CF price. SD might be a bit more. But you save the shipping cost. All stores I've used, but I was swayed by the guarantee of immediate shipment. Well, hopefully this is the last of the "etail" problems. BuyDig was very responsive about replacing the DS, and I shipped it off today, being very careful to follow all of their instructions. Even though there originally was a glitch in their getting my CC approved - I had to call them and give them some additional info - once that was resolved the camera was in the shipping queue and on its way to Casa Belinkoff in just a few hours. Sorry to hear about your etail problems. Some of these vendors are truly crappy. I suggested NewEgg.com and Buy.com as reliable vendors. I'm not sure that they sell ATP cards, but they certainly carry Transcend, Sandisk Ultra and other name brands of 60x cards. The ATP cards are the best I've seen, but the differences are tiny and I've not had any difficulty with any of them. Fry's Electronics (Outpost.com) is also usually reliable and sells the ATP brand. The card wasn't shipped until Sept 1, which meant that in order for me to use the DS I had to drive to another town to buy an SD card. Flash Memory Store did not perform as promised. Today I received the memory card. It was not the 60X ATP card, but rather, a slower (much slower by my estimation) plain vanilla no-name card. I called the store to discuss the matter and ended up with recorded message about how important my business is to them, continued by the comment that no one can take my call now. Anyway, I'm not writing this to evoke sympathy, rather, to alert you to the miserable service this store provides. I could have purchased a card for a few dollars more from a store that was "slower" to ship, and gotten faster and better service. Shel
