Re: PAW 2007 - 19 - GDG

No tomatoes, but I would crop it (to exclude the woman at the far right),
and the highlights are washed out, the shadows clogged up. Anything to be
done about that? [Film or digital? If digital, is the RAW file available?]

I like it. I see it as a study of the woman on the left. You've
retained enough shadow detail to make it work. Very interesting.

I like it. The woman on the left communicates a gloomy, melancholic
feeling and she is walking against the light. My guess is that it
could've worked with her more to the right, but I like it, gives me
the feeling that there's some more to read from the photo (storywise).
Was that even English?

nice cinema verite quality - I'd like it as part of an essay - not
sure it is strong enough for a stand alone -
um, like good photo journalistic shot one would like to see in a book,
but might not buy to hang on the wall.

Hi Godders,

I'm going to have to look at this one a few more times. My first reaction
is quite positive. The pic has a haunting quality to it, something
dreamlike or surreal. Unlike Maris, I think the woman on the right adds
quite a bit to the feel of the photo. Her presence adds something to the
pic. Having her may or may not improve the photo for me - I'll take
another look at a later time.

Speaking of tomatoes, I made a really great roasted tomato sauce last night
- Yum-O!

Same here, I saw it as a pic about the woman on the left. Personally, I'd
clone out that black circle in the back, which I think is actually someone's
head, because I find it highly distracting. Draws the eye too much in a bounce
effect -- bounce to woman, bounce to circle, back and forth. And since it is
not obviously someone's head cloning it out won't make that person look
headless. Hehehe.

Other than that, I like it.

Hi Godders,

To be honest, I didn't really notice that black circle, but now that akaDoe
has mentioned it, I'd agree.

I thought about the pic during the day and realized that what I like about
is that it very much reminds me of that great portrait of James Dean,
Boulevard of Broken Dreams. For those unfamiliar with the photo, you can
see it here:
