Definitely try the grape jelly. We get a constant parade at our feeder
including yesterday a young chick being fed by its father. Or so Meg reported -
I missed it.

Walt,
My first encounter with Baltimore Orioles was in Wisconsin as the
cherry trees were in bloom.
I've put Orange halves out for them and had some success, but you need trees.
We've got to try the grape jelly trick.

Thanks Jack.
I think you are right about the focus. I prefocused, but on the wrong target
given the narrow DOF at 25 foot range with a 300mm. Re-selected the focus point
once I had a bird on the feeder, but I was working without tripod, braced
sortta against a wall, he had set the feeder rocking…This is a half-way decent
shot which shows a beautifully-colored bird. It is not Art nor an Audubon
portrait. I’ll keep working it until I can get the focus part of it right as
well.

I've never seen an oriole in my area. They are beautiful birds, though.

We do get lots of indigo buntings. Unfortunately, the tree I used for
most of my bird shots blew over in a storm a couple of years ago.

Nevertheless -- love the shot, Stan!
