Re: PESO - Damselfly
Thanks Mark! I didn't mean to put down that lens. It's a terrific all-rounder, and yes, it's close-focusing capabilities aren't bad at all. Still think it would have been better yet with my macro. :-) Thanks to everyone who looked and commented. Glad you enjoyed! Cheers, frank Mark C wrote: >NIce shot, Frank. Yeah, used unsharp mask (can't remember the values) on the bug. Don't think I'd want to sharpen more. Thanks for the nice words about the photo. Much appreciated! After your low-key intro I wasn't expecting what I saw. Very nice! The 18-55 is not a lens anyone should be ashamed of. I think it's pretty sharp now, Frank. Frank, Great picture. You don't need to have the right lens with you. The lenx you had forced you into a creative composition which is exciting. Regards, Bob S. Quoting knarf : This is so damned frustrating. Down by the Lake a couple of weeks ago. Light perfect. Damselfly on a big backlit dewey leaf. No macro on me. He sat still for about a minute. I got several shots with the 18-55 kit zoom. This was the best of them: http://knarfdummyblog.blogspot.ca/2013/08/damsel-fly.html?m=1 But I would have liked it much sharper. If only... Anyway, hope you enjoy. Comments always welcome. "If only". One of my most used photographic expressions... I think the kit lens did pretty well. The background's nicely blurred, the leaf is a beautiful green and the damsel fly is well positioned in the frame. I enjoyed... -- Cheers Brian ++ Brian Walters Western Sydney Australia http://lyons-ryan.org/southernlight/ -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
