Which is one of the reasons to use Copper, it oxidizes to the green/blue patina, then stops. Most find the color pleasant, while at the same time minimizing maintenance. I expect that the new lamps are black enamel and gold leaf, which will require periodic cleaning polishing and renewal to continue to look good. Thanks for looking, PJ and Richard. These lamps look like they have been recently cleaned and polished.
