Re: PESO: Pansy
Nice colours. Pansies are so common here that I don't think I've ever thought about photographing one. Cheers, Dave On Jun 4, 2014, at 4:48 pm, Daniel J. Great looking specimen, well composed and photographed. It was a short and late season for them here in Chicago. Glad to see yours. Regards, Bob S. On Tue, Jun 3, 2014 at 11:48 PM, Daniel J. Re: PESO: Pansy
Thanks, Bob. I planted these very early this year, and they are still thriving. Often, but this stage of spring, they have faded or been crowded out by the petunias and portulacas I plant between them. This is actually just a test image of my new (to me) K-5IIS. So far, I really like the controls and the mechanics of the camera. I like the way the batters over closes firmly and opens easily, unlike my K-r and *istD. I also like the button one has to press to change the camera mode. With my older cameras, I would often switch modes inadvertently while gripping the camera to crawl into position or climb a step ladder to reach the right spot for a macro. Although I like the feel and operation of the K-5IIS, I am a bit disappointed. I spent all that money on another camera, and my photos still suck. It must be the lenses. I guess I just have to by a more expensive lens. Dan, I find a new lens helps my photos not suck. The 15mm limited I bought gave me several good images, and it's still giving me opportunities. :-) The latest Pentax camera is always an incremental upgrade. Regards, Bob S. Re: PESO: Pansy
Thanks, David. I don't spend as much time on them as on my other flowers, but they have interesting patterns. One problem is that the way they grow, there is almost always a dead of faded one right next to the nicest one, and, unless I want to pull out a lot of the less attractive blooms, it's hard to get a nice one without a distracting background.
