I like this, Paul; but the flash seems a bit harsh and flat.  What would a stop

Good point. I  agree that it's a bit harsh, but i think a stop less would have 
left it underexposed. However, a diffuser would have helped soften it. But when 
shooting Grace outside on the playground, I've found that for most shots, a 
diffuser kills too much of the fill light, so I don't use one. For this shot, I 
think it would have been a plus.

She was pretending to be a cat and attracted this toddler, who followed her 
around for a while. The dark tunnel with lit background has thrown me for a 
loss before, but a minus one stop flash comp at a big stop and fast shutter 
seems to work well.
