Thanks, Ann!

I am not sure what it was, but the appearance and "attitude of this woman
caught my eye, and the image pleased me when I revied it.

Yes, I know my butterfly obsession is boring, but I am pursuing it partly
to put together a presentation and webpage, and partly just to practice
taking macros.

Does the background look purple to you? It is blue, and looks blue on my
monitor.

I think she noticed me:

http://knarfinthecity.blogspot.com/2009/02/stare.html

As a pre-emptive strike, I dislike the background, mostly because of
the bright white thingie directly behind her head. I think I could
tone it down considerably in PS, but with the freebie programme that
I'm working with right now, I can't do much about it.

I think it still works with that there, just not as well as it will
work once that pesky background is toned down.

Comments welcome.

I would have preferred this expression to the other one, as she seems
to have sort of a Mona Lisa half-smile which I think is far prettier,
but nothing else in the frame worked like it did in the one I posted
(worst offender being the bags in front of her). She doesn't look so
nasty in this photo!

But now that I compare the two facial expressions, the one posted

 I think she noticed me:

 http://knarfinthecity.blogspot.com/2009/02/stare.html

As a pre-emptive strike, I dislike the background, mostly
 because of
the bright white thingie directly behind her head. I think
 I could
tone it down considerably in PS, but with the freebie
 programme that
I'm working with right now, I can't do much about
 it.

I think it still works with that there, just not as well as
 it will
work once that pesky background is toned down.

 Comments welcome.

Re: PESO - The Stare

2009-02-02 Thread Stan Halpin

My first reaction to the first one: hot!
On seeing the second one, taken first, I am convinced that her
expression in the first one (taken second) is an invitation. She
liked the attention of such a distinguished looking artist and was
waiting for you to come over, ask her to sign a model release, take
her for a cuppa, and then who knows...

Nice shot(s).

Seconds before I took the shot I posted today, I took this one (which
I've in no way processed, I'm just posting it to show the expression
on her face):

http://knarfdummyblog.blogspot.com/2009/02/blog-post.html

I would have preferred this expression to the other one, as she seems
to have sort of a Mona Lisa half-smile which I think is far prettier,
but nothing else in the frame worked like it did in the one I posted
(worst offender being the bags in front of her). She doesn't look so
nasty in this photo!

;-)

But now that I compare the two facial expressions, the one posted
earlier is far hotter looking. In this one she's just a bit softer
and prettier, but in the BW version she's definitely hotter...

:-)

frank
