The thing about the buildings, especially adobe, out west in te dry
environ is they last a long time.. even though far more delapidated
after almost exactly 30 years

It was route 90 and it was in 1988 that I took my shot.

Re: PESO: My Way

2020-12-27 Thread Bob Pdml
Thanks Rick.

The building is a block of flats under construction. It’s the tallest building
in the town and seems to have been quite controversial as a result. I think it
looks ok, albeit a bit too tall for the town, which may set an unwelcome
precedent for high rises. I like architecture which is confident and not trying
to be something else, but other people say it’s like a car park.

This is the marketing blurb:

Re: PESO - Which Way?

2020-09-03 Thread Daniel J. Matyola
Years ago, I was driving through VT and stopped for gas and liquid
refreshment before crossing the Connecticut into NH. The stop was a.t an
internet, and the road had changed since my last trip there. A sign on the
road off to the right said "Hanover," and did a sign on the road straight
ahead. Since the intersection had changed since my last trip, I asked the
store owner if it made any difference which road I took. "Not to me it
don't," came the reply.

NIce shot. I like the foreground action framing the sign bearer. A lot of
earnest city life. Well seen.

Certainly a worthy pick. It's a lovely photo (although I too thought
the sky is a bit overexposed).

Which way is up? Buggered if I know

I'm looking at it on my laptop so it's not ideal but the image seems a
little underexposed at the top (er, bottomno, top). I wonder if
there is sufficient detail in the original file to get some more
contrast there.

Cheers

Nice shot! I'd probably play with curves a bit to bring the upper
portion highlights down a bit and saturate the sky a bit more.
