PESO rope on dock at night
This is probably my one real keeper from my midnight photo walk: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/5397800784/in/set-72157625804246179/ For obvious reasons, it is a lot sharper than the photos of the sea otter swimming in the harbor. -- Larry Colen l...@red4est.com sent from i4est -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

needs a little more forward DOF on the rop IMO but I like your composition cheers ecke 2011/1/29 Larry Colen : > This is probably my one real keeper from my midnight photo walk: > http://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/5397800784/in/set-72157625804246179/ > > For obvious reasons, it is a lot sharper than the photos of the sea otter > swimming in the harbor. > > -- > Larry Colen l...@red4est.com sent from i4est > > > > > > -- > PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List > PDML@pdml.net > http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net > to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow > the directions. > -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

What Ecke said. And it's good light exposure for a "midnight" shot. But DOF, like Ecke said, is an issue for me too. Re: PESO rope on dock at night
Ecke and Christine: I had been trying to tightly edit my shots, and so I hadn't posted this version of the shot, which I initially liked better than the first one I posted: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/5402523879/in/set-72157625804246179/ The shot was hand held at 1/13 Sec and ISO 800, I had already stopped down from f/1.4 to 2.5. This is the sort of shot that I'd generally rather have a small section be perfectly sharp, than greater depth of field and lose sharpness in the whole image due to motion blur, or sensor noise. I prefer this one to the original. Works better for me. This one is a better composition even if the other one is sharper. The location of the plane of sharp focus on the other one is funky. - No virus found in this message. I like that much better. The rope has less of that Gaussian nervous-tense-tired effect on my eyes.
