Jostein, why does the upload software disallow hyphen characters in file
names? i always have to rename my files whenever i submit anything.

Actually, it's only a matter of my personal paranoia... :-)
I have ended up having the same problem myself, really.
However, my filenames are always more than the few characters allowed in
the
AutoPug, so I have to rename them anyway.

This may be a carryover from when I was running the gallery.
I was using an ftp transfer program to upload the PUG, and while it would
allow as long a filename as I wanted, it would only display the first 8
characters. The last check I did before uploading was to ensure I had three
of every filename, and I did that on the ftp program itself.
Regarding disallowing anything other than alph-numerics, Igor recommended
that I should do that.
Now that it's all automated, it shouldn't matter, I suppose, but when we
were hand coding each page, and then debugging by eye, it mattered.

PUG Submission problems

2003-11-17 Thread Boris Liberman
Hi!

To whom it may concern sigh. I've just tried to submit my current
PUG photo and this is what I saw thereafter:

-- start
Your submission has been registered.
You should receive an e-mail confirmation shortly.
SimpleMail.smtp.2 error '80020009'
ERROR in SendMail Transaction ERROR in response to RCPT TO:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] should be 250 ResponseBuf: 550 not local host
rambler.ru, not a gateway

/autopug/includes/mailer.inc, line 11
-- end

Now, I wonder whether the image was successfully accepted and only
confirmation failed to arrive, or should I repeat all over again.

Thanks.

Boris

Boris and Steve,
Your submissions has been received intact.

The component for sending the confirmation mail fails to do so.
Looks like it has problems connecting to the mailserver; I will raise the issue
with my SP.

Sorry about that.

Excellent. What is most important is that we won't then try to
re-submit our photos.

Thanks!
