Well, I certainly don't think my image was the best submitted that day. There must have been one accepted for the Premium Collection or at least one a bit more artistic. I don't know whether it is random or just a case of "Let's pick one that would be interesting to a wide audience including non-photographers." I sometimes wonder how they choose 'Image of the day'. I'm guessing that it's an automated process that selects an image randomly. Some of the ones I've seen are pretty ordinary (unlike yours, I hasten to add!) and I can't imaging that they've been chosen by a real person.
