Pentax Rebates coming?
This german page lists rebates for the K-3, K-S2 and K-50. Rebates are given in euros and swiss francs and are 100, 50, and 50 respectively. This appears to be a Ricoh Imaging initiative, so one would think that if it is offered in Europe that we would see it announced elsewhere very soon. http://www.prophoto-online.de/fotonachrichten/ricoh-imaging-cashback-aktion-10009165 Also want to mention that BH Photo Video is currently offering the BG-5 grip free with the K-3 body at $799 (although the low price from an Amazon seller right now is $718 if one does not want the grip). The rebate effectively makes the K-3 about $475 less than the K-3 which is to ship on May 25th (according to Amazon). IMHO that makes it the Prime Time to upgrade to a K-3 if you've been thinking about it and are a bang-for-the-buck guy (as opposed to the have-the-latest-and-greatest kind of guy). :) -- Life is too short to put up with bad bokeh. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

Re: Pentax rebates
Thank you for this additional info. I don't understand why Pentax doesn't post this information on their website, and why one needs to look at somebody's (albeit a president of Pentax Imaging) web-blog. It appears that rhe card doesn't say one really has to purchase K7 or present any proof of its purchase, does it? (I hesitated for a moment: do they want to have K7's SN written in the rebate form, - but it doesn't look like that's the case.) So, - why not post this information on pentaximaging.com , where they have a place for rebates/rebate information already?! And then Pentax (or Hoya) complains about their profits?! The implication seems to be that the card is included in the K-7 package. Maybe someone in the US who has purchased the K-7 can tell us if they received this card. Any others out there getting stiffed!! Well, there were two rebate offers over the summer, one of which ended in early July or August and the other which picked up from that date and I think is still current. Hopefully you used the correct form. The only difference (aside from the date) was the addition of the *istDL to the later form. Either way, you should get in touch with Pentax and/or the company that handles their rebate offers. The squeaky wheel gets the oil, but being squeaky to other wheels gets you nothing.
