Re: How to see all exif data in lightroom?

2024-09-08 Thread Larry Colen
Thanks a bunch, that was the one I was trying to find, but couldn't remember
the name. It didn't do what I wanted with regards to exif data, but it pointed
me to this plug-in
https://johnrellis.com/lightroom/anyfilter.htm

which Jeff recommended as being more powerful than his. In the process it
pointed me to Exiftool
https://exiftool.org/index.html

Which I ended up using, and found out that Pentax does not record which version
of astrotracer was used on the image. So, I'll need to actually record time
and frame numbers at some time comparing the different versions.

BTW, more of John Ellis' plug-ins here
https://johnrellis.com/lightroom/allplugins.htm

Lightroom is actually pretty weak on what it is willing to give up to

I feel your pain bro. I only need two things to get my MGB back on the road,
time and money.

A friend has a frogeye that has been garaged, and not running, for about 45
years, I so much would have loved to pick that up as a project and put in a
more modern driveline.

Re: PESO: 1946 Power Wagon

2024-09-04 Thread Bill
I spent some time chatting with the lad in the background of the
picture. He and his dad had salvaged the machine from a farmyard and had
taken it on. He indicated that this was the first 4 wheel drive truck
introduced to the civilian market. I don't know if that's the fact, but
he seemed pretty sure of himself.

He is VERY proud of his truck.

This one is powered by the original 218CID inline 6 that it came from
the factory with. When they did the restoration they used bed liner
spray on the running boards rather than the original gloss black enamel.
I think that was the only unforced "improvement" they made. I don't
think the tires were stock, but I suspect that after nearly 80 years,
the stock tires are no longer readily available so they did the best
they could.

Thanks all for looking and commenting.

I agree that it is a good machine - I've got one. But for those not
familiar with the "Air" part of MacBook Air it has only two USB-C ports.
The workaround is to get a multifunction dock that plugs into one of them.
I got one that had good reviews on Amazon and it has worked well for
everything asked of it, so far.

It is a m1 processor, 8 gb ram and 256gb ssd. The screen works but has a strip

Re: GESO: Galapagos Fauna

Stunning colours do these crabs have. Nice combination also with the
sleeping seal.
With such series of the Galapagos I can imagine you have difficulties to
decide which picture to select for PUG :)

The September PUG theme, Marine Life, first had me thinking about Marine Corps

recalibrated and went into photos from our late-March 2018 visit to the
Galapagos. That 2018 visit is very much on my mind as we shortly will be doing
a late-September re-visit to many of the same spots. At first I was stuck on
images of the Sally Lightfoot Crab, but then found another subject for the PUG.
Tune into the September PUG when Brian unveils it in a few weeks. Meanwhile a
few of my not-selected are here:https://photos.stanhalpin.com/p926724626The
first image is of a pair of Galapagos Flightless Cormorants. Distant cousins to
PDML’s favorite bird.

Note that the host for my galleries is Zenfolio. I am quite pleased with them
in all respects except that recently that started “archiving” older images. As
you would see if you visit my current GESO linked above, and then started
browsing around, any/most of the galleries in the GESO thread have been
archived. I just hit the Retrieve button on those, but it might be 12-24 hours

The status bar for uploading doesn't disappear and shows time out,
however after reloading the Flickr website the uploaded photo does
appear in my photo stream.
In the help forum there are plenty of messages on this problem, so I

Funny how Belgian television sounds like an insult, cf Mr Adams, but Belgian
beer is definitely not. Maybe there's a causative link. The really good thing
about electric bikes is that you can decide, to a greater or lesser degree, how
tired you will be at the end of the day. Doesn't do much for the state of your

Re: August PUG is Up

2024-08-11 Thread Henk Terhell

Thanks Stan and Patrick.
An interesting gallery with these long exposures.
Ann's ghost walkers is something special.
I also much like the mood of the Denali night landscape with that window
light. It looks like a hazardous place to stand there in the darkness.
The ICM experiment of the trees is quite nice, I think about learning it
myself. The only trick I apply sometimes for pictures of wood landscapes
is the orton effect.

Re: PESO Fallingwater

Thanks, Rick!

If I'm following you, the lower left is a section of the Berlin Wall.
The circular structure is a sculpture titled "Room" by Andy
Goldsworthy. Kentuck Knob is owned by Lord Peter Palumbo, who
apparently collects art, much of which is displayed there. This was
the explanation for not allowing photography inside the house. The
sculptures on the grounds had no such restrictions.

First Rick Womer's "Bartram's Garden" and now David Brooks's "Lewis farm

I like the far-right picture in the top row and the middle one in the second

I see...

Somewhat like winter tyres with spikes which damaged the roads and

Fantastic Gallery, Dave.  I really enjoyed that. Very nostalgic - those
guys are doing a great job. Majestic horses which seem to be enjoying
the outing. I once worked a vac. on a mixed farm back in the 60's where
the tractors & equipment were oldish but well maintained by a clever
mechanic. The horses were only for recreation (polo ponies). I remember
some old Dodge Fargo Bakkies too.
