The dogs in the picture are German Shepherds (at
 least that is what we
 call them in the USA.

Also known as Alsatians. We use the terms
interchangeably in NZ.

That is a big cat. I've never seen anything like it.
And I liked Ayash's comment about one of the dogs
being a philosopher. You know, I didn't even notice

Just couldn't let this one go by without a mention about how the picture
came about (there was an article in the paper over the long weekend about
it).
Apparently the guy in the picture doctored it with photoshop to amuse his
daughter and their friends. Someone they sent it to resent it to others,
someone somewhere added a story about it being the kitten of a stray living
at some nuclear power plant... and just like that, another undying Internet

Now I'm gonna have to find that article and start an Internet Legend

I have never had one break. I would expect the handler to bring

doesn't matter what she is doing, if I shout DOWN within her
range of hearing, she hits the deck and stays put until I tell

I don't know much about dogs, myself, being a cat person and all, but I have

Alsace, as in Alsace-Lorraine, the area that more or less straddles the
Franco-German border, and changes hands every time those two fight a war.

So, my guess would be that your Alshesians and German Shepherds are the same

Re: More Cat Pics

2001-05-27 Thread Pdgsurvey
From some of our experience.if that cat has as much attitude as it is
displaying, the first dog to break ranks it would probably whoop it's butt
and teach it a lesson.

Especially if it is armed with claws. At that point in time, the other dogs
would either "sit up and take notice" or the cat would be long gone.

Remember, it's the Egyptians' fault...at one time they treated cats like Gods
and to this day, they don't let us forget it.
