I lugged my old IBM ThinkPad 755cx in my Checked Baggage on a JAL jumbo to
Japan Nov 2000, and still use it with no problems. Maybe mine was built a
bit stronger than present machines.

If you haven't seen them, you should check out LowePro's Street & Field
backpacks. The one I'm thinking of specifically is a half and half
bag -- the bottom half is a traditional semi-rigid style camera bag, and
the top half is a standard backpack. I almost picked up one for my trip
to NC, but the camera part is a little small for the 67 with accessories.

I love ER cases. All my cameras bar the LX have them (still debating
getting one but I wouldn't be able to fit the grip). Wonderful invention.
No hassle to clip the front off if it's getting in the way. Miles better
than the padded holster type bags. I keep tipping cameras out of them by
accident. Born clumsy.
I like the Domke wraps, I use them for lenses mainly.

Domke make these nice little padded wraps with velcro for cameras, they come
in a range of funky colours :)
So you can just sling it in backpack.

ER cases can be a bit of a pain.

Hey, That's just what I was going to say!
Still waiting for mine to arrive. It's on order. Then I can sling my MZ-S
