RE: Test - New to the list
Geoff, I was kidding of course. But nowadays it's not really comfortable to make such a trip outside Java island and Bali. Safety and security are the main concern. Lombok is ok, the closest to Bali. We have magnificent views in some places. Getting there is another story. Some of the most beautiful places are still in conflict, like Maluku. I've been exploring some other countries too, and driving from place to place is easy and comfortable. Not here, though. So, even if I live here, I often hesitate to go far. Re: Test - New to the list
Winston, You are going to love the FA24/2.0. I like it more than the 43/1.9 or 77/1.8. I purchased mine a long time ago, and fell in love with it when I got the results back. Some of the shots had an almost magical 3 dimensional quality. I quit using my 28mm f2.8 after I saw these results. Regards, Bob S. RE: Test - New to the list
Mark, I don't know about other Pentax lenses too, but lately I found out that I like Pentax's color rendition and sharpness better than Nikon's. Comparing 77/1.8 with Nikkor AF 85/1.8 (one of Nikon's sharpest) shows that 77 offers more 'separation' between focused object and background (3D look). Seems like Pentax has more resolution to resolve. Of course Nikon system is very extensive and I still do a lot of macro/product shots that still is the forte of Nikon. I will try to borrow a film scanner and scan some of my Pentax images later. Cheers, Winston I don't know about the 70-200 but all the rest of your lenses are truly superb! Hope we get to see some of your photos in the Pentax User's Gallery (PUG for short). RE: Test - New to the list
I WOULD LOVE to! Man, you better get cold, just add another blanket, jacket, or whatever to warm you up. Consider this, 33-34 C deg all year long, 70-80% humidity, sweating without air conditioning, dusty too! Not good for my lenses! And when it's raining, flood everywhere - just too much water in the wrong way! Hehehe Quebec sounds lovely. In Jakarta what we have is gray and washed out sky. I've never seen any blue sky in the last several yrs. Last week I went to Australia for 11 days - great place of photo opportunity! Of course when the temp hit 41 I decided to fly back :) -Original Message- From: William Robb [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, November 17, 2003 6:38 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Test - New to the list - Original Message - From: "Winston" Subject: RE: Test - New to the list > Too bad I have no web sites. RE: Test - New to the list
Anybody has an experience with the FA 24/2? I'm ordering it already, but I don't like surprises (bad ones). Should I expect similar performance as those from 43/1.9 and 77/1.8? Also, can the battery pack FG20 accept rechargeable NiMH? Btw, sorry steve, me cheap too. -Original Message- From: Steve Larson [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, November 17, 2003 12:01 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Test - New to the list Welcome aboard!
