Re: Velbon sherpa tripod question
Hi Tim, Thanks for that. I actually took a leg off my tripod, and you're right - no locking mechanism, and therefore no additional positions for the legs. I'll have another look at the 550R and 750R on the web site so I know what it is that I thought I'd find. RE: Velbon sherpa tripod question
Are you sure that tripod can be set in different angels? I just had a look at the Velbon site at the Sherpa series. Judging from the small pictures, there is a locking device on 550R and 750R, but not on the 250R. I have a Sherpa Pro CF-630, they are adjustable. The lock is a thingy that I must lift up. It ain't easy, and it ain't obvious. When the pod is standing it can't be done. I have to do it from start, before setting it up. A silly mechanism if you ask me. But it is there. Judging from the pictures there is a different locking mechanism at 550 and 750. I'm sorry that I can't be of more help. It's got all the features I've been looking for, at a price that suits both my budget and financial controller... :-) One of its features is the legs can be splayed at 3 different settings, allowing the tripod to be set quite low. Trouble is, I can't for the life of me figure out how to move the legs past the first locking point. Is there anyone else out there with one of these tripods, who can tell me what I'm doing wrong? Haven't used this specific model, but in the pivoting joint, look for a plastic tab or block which you can pull up or push down. This would allow the leg to move past the first locking point. And there should be two position to allow fully or semi spread out of the legs. -- --Lawrence [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.vex.net/~lawrence -- --Tungsten T3 Enhanced DIA KeyboardNokia Ringtone Convertor-- -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
