more attention in a thread of its own, so:

This company has a freaky price- USD$1149 for the *ist D body.. Found it
thru Froogle.com. Is it genuine?? Anyone?

I just checked with reseller ratings on a scale of 0.00 - 10.00 they scored
a 0.90. I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole. I believe they are one
on the NYC mail order stores that give the industry a bad name.

Look at the prices of accessories on the right - unbranded 128MB CF card -
189$... For 150$ you can have 512MB Sandisk Ultra II at B&H... no comments.

Look up Amphoto in www.resellerratings.com

The best rating is 10 and the worst is way less than 10. Amphoto rates a
0.90 which is absolutely terrible.
Everyone should bookmark this URL.  It is very handy!

I would guess that this company might try to suck you into accessories, 
and make their profit that way. Note on the page that a 1 GB cf card 
lists for twice, or more, it's cost elsewhere. The page doesn't even 
specify what brand of card.
