Obvious Nikon user; doesn't know which way to turn the lens to release it.

I don't see anything inherently wrong with the design other than the
lack of an eye-level viewfinder for those of us with unsteady hands
failing eyesight.

I wonder how hard it would be to make a little electronic viewfinder

I haven't spent a lot of time looking, but if the HDMI slot on the
K-01 works the same way it does on the K-5 (allowing live monitoring
and not just playback) then you COULD use one of the HDMI add-on EVFs
out there.

Like:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/736853-REG/Zacuto_Z_FIND_EVF_Z_Finder_EVF.html
http://store.redrockmicro.com/EVF
http://www.bandpro.com/products/new-products-and-specials/131-newhdmielectronicviewfinderfromcineroid.html

Obviously this adds (greatly) to the cost and weight (two of the
reasons you might choose the K-01 over the K-5).

Speaking of Tonka, though (OT) I found a nice Tonka pickup at the

$50 in similar condition. Also discovered a whole new world of eBay
